Hi! Sorry I missed the page the other day - I was just about to post the question you asked about OBs. I'm looking too. I like the one I was at (Dr. Swaim - she delivers at the Women's Hospital) but I'd like to be closer and am thinking of switching to Greater Houston OB (I got the recommendation from a couple of people at HIVF - they're in the same building)... have you guys heard anything about them good bad or other?
ETA: I've been off the boards a couple of days, so am catching up - I'm so glad your ET went well JenJen!! I was thinking about you and hoping all was good when I went in yesterday. ![]()
Re: ***LCB34 & JenJen***
Nerwak! Thanks...ET went well, so hopefully my little embies are getting good and comfy. How was your appointment yesterday?? I told Dr. M that I "knew" you and she played dumb...patient confidentiality blah blah blah...
I dont know anything about either of those OBs, but i'd be very interested in the practice at Memorial City...especially since it's in the same tower...that would be very convenient for me. You'll have to keep us posted when you pick one.
The last OBGyn I saw was Dr. Swaim. I liked her OK but I didn't like her offices all that much - they felt dated and I hated that you have ot pay cash for parking (I know that is a silly thing but it bothered me). I have also seen someone at OGA ? didn?t like the doctor but loved the facility. The doctor at OGA is actually the one that did my surgery. I really liked him up until the point that he was forcing me in to Lupron therapy for my endo instead of letting me try to get pregnant.
I want to be in the Med Center b/c it is closer to me than having to battle I-10 out to the Memorial City area.
LCB: Yeah, I know what you mean. She delivered four friends' babies (I got good recommendations), and was nice, but I hated her office staff, kinda felt lost there, and that I had to pay for parking. Before her I saw Dr. Bobo but didn't like the office there either. I liked her well enough though. I can't remember what practice she is with, but she's down in the med center. A friend of mine saw her co-worker Dr. Dryden and liked her, too. I can't remember exactly what I didn't like about the practice (sorry to be so unhelpful) - I think the main thing was the front office staff and that I kinda felt like cattle - its a big practice. Good luck!
Jen: I hope your embies are getting nice and comfy too! My appointment went well - I got in trouble for not having an OB appointment yet (#1 on my to do list today) and its up to me whether I'm kicked out or if I want to have another appointment next week... I haven't decided yet. But everything else looks normal and the babies looked good! That's so funny that you said that to Dr. M!
Yadira gave me three business cards for OB's in the building or surrounding buildings and CJ backed up one for Dr. Mc Closkey (her personal OB, who she likes). I'm thinking I'm going to try there first, just to see. I'm slightly worried because I don't want to jump around from practice to practice though and if I don't like them I will. I talked to my mom and apparently my aunt delivered in that hospital (years ago) but she had a good experience and my mom said she was impressed with them.
