Dreft for HE washers?

Have you started washing baby clothes with Dreft if you have an HE washer? The bottle doesn't specify that you can/can't use for HE washers ... are you just using another national brand HE detergent with no fragrance/sensitive skin, etc? TIA!

Re: Dreft for HE washers?

  • I don't have an HE washer but I've read that Tide or All free clear works just as well.

  • I've read that these days all detergents are the same as Dreft. Dreft has some kind of deal with Carters that's why its always recommended. Dreft used to be the only detergent that wouldn't remove the fire retardation from kids clothing....now you should be able to use any HE machine detergent that's fragrance free if you want to.

  • They sell Dreft HE  - I've seen it at BRU and Target.  But I used Tide Free and clear for HE.

  • Dreft does make an HE that I got at Target. I have tried the regular Dreft (sample) and it bubbled up too much for the HE washer...so much so that I had to run a plain water wash to just clean soap off the clothes. Supposedly Tide or All Free (or whatever their no fragrance/sensitive is called) work as well.

  • Dreft makes me breakout in hives.
  • I saw regular Dreft and HE Dreft at the store.  HE Dreft was even more expensive than the regular, so like PP I bought a completely different brand, I think All Small and Mighty HE.

  • I seen the Dreft HE at WalMart.

  • Dreft is a waste of money.  Just use one of the free and clear detergents.

EXACTly why  you HAVE HAVE HAVE to use HE detergent for HE washers.  Some people say it is fine, they are nuts.... I am not throwing $700 bucks down the drain...
