Infertility

PCOS....

I've been going to a fertility doctor for about a year now and still haven't gotten pregnant. I just really wanna know if there's women out there who have PCOS who have gotten pregnant. I just don't wanna get discouraged about the whole thing.

Re: PCOS....

  • There most certainly ARE!

I have PCOS and I haven't gotten pregnant yet but we also have a whole host of other problems (high insulin, high FSH, uterine polyps, huge cysts, low morph, vericocele) but I know there are many women from this board (and now probably on SAIF) that have PCOS and have gotten pregnant.

    GL! :)

  • The women on this board are still TTC #1, but there is a whole bunch of ladies who have gotten pregnant and given birth with PCOS on the SAIF board. You may get a better response there.

However, if you want support from others in your situation, introduce yourself and stick around. We are all here to help.

  • Thanks so much! What's SAIF?
  • yes, my husband's been checked out and everything seems okay. i've been on all sorts of meds, shots, etc....my follicles don't seem to be growing and it's just so frustrating and upsetting.

  • SAIF=Success After Infertility board.

Also, check out the PCOSBio on here and www.soulcsyters.com if you haven't done so already. Both are great for info.

have you had your FSH checked?  maybe you have low ovarian reserve.  if that's the case, there are options out there.

When you say meds, do you mean you tried clomid, follistim (or other injectables)?  Just wondering about your treatments history.....

  • Don't be discouraged, I got pg fairly easily (6 months, but only 2 cycles) with Sophia... and losing her after she was born had nothing to do with the PCOS.

    Don't lose hope!  ((hugs))

  • I have known a few people that have gotten pg and they had PCOS.

I was dignosed with PCOS in June. Don't lose courgage or hope. I know it is frustrating, but there is hope. Like one of the pp posted there is a PCOS support group that checks in every Tuesday and Thursday and a few other sites that she mentioned.

Has your doctor put you on any meds like metformin to help with the PCOS? Has he put you on Clomid or Ferema to help with ovulation?

This is the kind of information we needed to know in the first place. It helps to have all of the information up front so we can help you in the best possible way.

  • Please do not get discouraged! I am on month 9 of trying and I am feeling kinda down too but this board is really supportive. There is a PCOS check-in post every week and we often discuss things that are working / not working and offer advice to each other. I am glad you have joined us! Good luck!
  • I was recently Dx with PCOS and the ladies here have been wonderfully supportive!  I had the same question though so I posted this HIT ME but you could post on SAIF too, I just wasn't smart enough to do that.
