s/o flu

How old do they have to be to get vaccinated? ?For the swine flu? For the reg. flu?

Also, are you gonna get your LO vaccinated for either??

Re: s/o flu

  • I think they have to be 6 months.  And as long as the good doc says it's ok, we probably will since P's in daycare.

  • Six months for both, I believe.

  • LO has to be 6 months for the flu vaccine - I just talked to the pediatrician about this at my DD appt. yesterday ... she said no info has come out about the swine flu vaccine yet - they are still waiting for when, etc that vaccine will come out.  I would imagine that would be 6 mos. too.  It's a hard decision about vaccination but I did ask her about if the vaccine contained Thimerasol and she told me it doesn't which was my main conern.  As of right now, I think I will have her get the vaccine when she turns 6 mos. especially if we have her in daycare at that time.

  • I've heard 6 mos. but I'm not sure. We won't vaccinate for the flu though, DH and I have some concernes over the preservatives that they use; moreso than we are concerned about the flu. It's definitely a personal choice though and I would never judge someone who did vaccinate their LO for it.
  • We plan on getting DD's flu shot at her 6mo
  • There is preservative free vaccine.  They have it every year.
