Some of my friends who recently had a baby posted some pics on FB and I don't want to be mean but they all look terrible. They are all so swollen and look so uncomfortable. I don't want anyone taking pics of my until I am showered and looking some what decent. I'll also have to make sure my bed is upright so my beautiful double chin is not in any of the pics.
Of course I want pictures but I would never go posting AWFUL pics on FB, would you?
Re: How do you feel about pics after LO is born?
I know what you mean - it sounds shallow, but I definitely want to run a brush through my hair and put on some lipstick before I start getting facebook-posting pictures taken!
Not to say that I don't want any pictures taken right away - just not ones that are going to be posted on a public forum!!
NOT a fan of pics immediately after birth..... BUT I think DH and baby and I will want to have some of that special moment later in life, so I'm going to have some taken no matter how bad I look. I'm sure I will be glad to have them later!
They will NOT EVER be on Facebook though....
THIS is what I meant. I want the pics of course but not on FB and I worry that when friends come to visit they will take some and post them. I'll have to talk to them beforehand
I don't mind immediate pictures, but those will not be posted on facebook for all to see.

Agreed that I want the pictures of myself holding my LO in the first few moments but I don't want them posted all over the internet if they are hideous. I'd rather keep the not-so-flattering ones for myself and family only.
This. I was in labor for 16 hours before I had my daughter via c-section, so I looked like hell. My pictures are posted. People know that I don't normally look that horrible, but those moments are so precious to me and I have no problem sharing them.
Agreed. I want that "moment" at the very beginning captured just not placed on things such as facebook or blogs. I truthfully probably won't even think about posting pics to facebook until we are all home.
I feel exactly the same - DH and I don't post any personal pics on FB (except whatever profile pic we have up at the time), we kinda have a rule about it.
I know I have some friends that will want to post these kinds of pictures (b/c they post EVERY picture they take), and it's something we'll have to talk about with them. We don't want to seem like freaks, but I so don't want my after-labour pics or pics of my newborn floating around on the interwebs.
Hell

Hell, I don't really even want my shower pictures posted b/c I feel all squishy now and can only imagine what I will feel like when I am 32 wks along.
I just love looking at pictures of mom and baby right after birth. The Mom always looks puffy, exhausted and SO HAPPY!!!! I think they're the cutest pictures! So real and genuine and beautiful.
But when the time comes for me, I'll probably change my mind and say no!?
We'll take those pictures right after birth. And then we'll probably send them to family. We both have family that would like to be there, but can't because of various circumstances. But they are going to want pictures as soon as possible. So we'll probably send them the pictures, get nice and cleaned up, and then take some that we can post on facebook & blogs.
