Why does the teenager think I'm an idiot?

It's the fourth day of school...and he sneaked his MP3 player with him. We had such a problem with this last year that we now have a rule that all of his electronics must be left on the kitchen table every morning. Like I wasn't going to notice?

And now, he loses it for the entire school year (yes, that's how big the problems were with this last year) because he was told before school even started that if it was taken to school, he loses it until next summer. I swear, the kid just doesn't think. 

Grr. Frustrated. I hope an administrator takes it. It'll serve him right.

    You answered your own question there, because he's a teenager.  They think we're all stupid. They don't realize we were teenagers and have already tried to get away with the same crap.

    We tell him that all the time and he just doesn't believe us...lol.
