I have always had nice long (but not too long) nails. I trim them all the time but they just keep growing. Is it awkward/inconvenient to have long nails with a baby?
Good question...but I'm sure you'll be fine. You'll probably be very gentle with LO anyway, and there would be little risk of "manicular stabbing"! :-P
My doula requested I keep my nails cut. Her last client dug so deep when she was holding her hand, it broke the surface. I worry less about LO than hurting my DH or doula now ha.

I was going to say I don't think it matters how long your nails are after the baby's born, but during my 1st labor with DD...I had long nails and and epidural and couldn't feel anything! I kept digging my nails into my legs while I was pushing and DH was freaking out because of how deep my puncture wounds were. He had me promise that I will cut them before I have DC#2 )
I kept mine fairly long after DD was born... no issues. As long as they are kept neat and trimmed and you are used to them then you shouldn't have any problems.
Re: Should I cut my nails before LO arrives?
If they're not really long and you're used to them, it shouldn't be an issue.
LOL - thats a good point! Poor DH...
