Nursery Poll: Elegent or Fun!

I spend a lot of time on HGTV's Rate my space and I have to say I get a little annoyed by how many people create really elegant, fancy, sophisticated Nurseries.  I don't understand it because in my mind no kid would want that.  It would be like growing up in a formal living or dining room! Pretty sucky.  So here is an annonymous poll.  Tell me what you prefer!

    I voted for fun, but I intend to mix fun & elegant - but more on the side of fun. I reallllyy want to put a beautiful glass/crystal chandelier in a little girls princess room.
    In memory of precious Julia, sweet baby James, and now Timmy who fought so hard.

    I was floored by the elegant choice. bizarro. I thought I would vote elegant b/c I'm interested in a more modern, not cutesy style - which goes more with our style and a kid can grow into as a room (a play room is something else). . . but the one you showed was overwhelming.
    m/c#1 07/16/08 (11 weeks), m/c#2 10/10/08 (8 weeks). and then nothing since except every test possible (no answers). IUI#1 and #2: BFNs Super lucky to be buddies with Peetie. Our out of nowhere, surprise DD born 5/29/2011

    If I could have swapped out the crib for a big girl bed, I would have killed for the elegant room at nine years old.  I fantasized about living in a castle and that room would have been perfect for my princess fantasies.  For a baby, though, I think it's a little overboard.  The only reason people decorate nurseries is for themselves, not the babies.  I certainly don't remember what my nursery looked like as a baby.  And I'm pretty sure I didn't have an opinion on the decor.

    mine was clowns and I only know that bc of pictures lol

     I would have voted for a mix of elegant and fun, but the elegant pic above is absurd to me.

    Wow, that's so cute!  Did you have that professionally done?  Or are you just that creative?  I could never pull off something that nice looking!
