3rd Trimester

Is everyone a teacher?

Maybe I just notice them more, but does it seem like many women on the bump are teachers?

Maybe teachers just post more about their jobs?  Because they're all headed back to work now?

Maybe I'm just crazy.

  • I'm teaching DH to cook dinner tonight...does that count? Smile

I have noticed that as well.  I am a SAHW.

    I think this. I'm not a teacher.

  • Haha...sorry.  It's just that we had all summer off and were spoiled.  This whole working and being pg isn't my fave thing.  I give you all props for working thru the whole pg!!!
  • Not me!  I'm a nurse, but there do seem to be a ton of teachers on here!
  • I was (will be again one day) an elementary ed major, but I kinda quit going to school when they stopped offering classes in my area (branch of larger school).?

    I am a SAHM :) ?

  • I'm a teacher...and it's on my mind b/c we are going back and dealing with being a lot bigger and less mobile.  It's a mindset shift complicated by pregnancy.  But for me, I'm also psyched b/c I've been looking forward to the fall b/c that means my little girl is almost here!

Oh, no need to be sorry Big Smile  Just one of those things I noticed and wondered if it was just me.

  • I am, but like OP said you may be noticing it more because A) we were all around all summer and B) we are gearing up to go back to school.  Take a look at these boards Sept-June from the hours of 8-3 and you will be hard pressed to find many teachers on ;-)

  • ha I've noticed there are a lot of teachers on here too. But I'm an office manager - I bump cause I'm at my computer all day long & not too busy to do some personal stuff in between projects. :)
  • Nope, not a teacher...just a pharmacy tech, that is all.
  • I think its just the time of year. I'm a med student!
  • Maybe a lot of teachers planned to be PG during the summer so they are mostly in 3rd tri now?
  •   I'm a nurse, but most of my friends are teachers.  I wouldn't mind having summers off though!
  • I'm an airfield systems technician and summer sucks.  Too hot and my job can add up a lot of hours fast.  I'm so glad I'm now on strict 40 hour work weeks, because earlier we were doing a lot of 12+ hour days...

I am a teacher, and at my school we generally consider an April or May delivery ideal (after baby is born, you're out for the rest of the year).  I pity the women in my school who give birth in (early) July--they pretty much get screwed out of maternity leave.

  • I am (but only for about 2 more weeks- hurray!).  I think it's because a lot of schools are starting up around now.
  • Nope. Not a teacher here. A therapist who, as of Oct. 2nd (or sooner if Aubri comes out before that), will be lookin' for a new job! (Trust me, this is a good thing. I'm the one who works with the sex offenders... Wee... I'll tell you what, pregnancy makes my job very interesting.......)

Agree!  We were hoping to get pregnant late last summer, so that I would have the baby towards the end of the school school year and have a couple of more months off for the summer.  We technically don't get a maternity leave....we use our sick days!?!

  • I'm a teacher and yes its back to school time so you're probably seeing a lot more recently about going back to work!  I'm actually not going back to school this year because my job was cut after last year and I want to stay home with our LO when she arrives in Nov.  I also have an evening job which I will continue to work after she arrives.  This will allow me to be home during the day with her and my husband to home with her in the evening!

he he I was just thinking I notice nurses and teachers the most.

  • I am a teacher and experiencing total sadness right now because I'm NOT going back to school right now.... staying home/moving home with LO when DH deploys in January. Never thought I would take a year or two off from teaching, but it's really the best option for our family right now.
  • college professor so many of the "teacher" posts don't really apply.
