Recommend your toy cellphone!

DD needs one! Please, even if they only play with it for two minutes before reaching for yours again...

Re: Recommend your toy cellphone!

  • No play phone is equally to a real one,.  At least to DS they are not.  So he has an old cell phone that has a battery to make the nosies but does not dial out.

  • I like the one made by Parents.  They are in the educational toy section at Target for like $15.  It is a flip phone  that allows you to record a message so DC can play it back, and makes all the "real" sounds.  DD loves hers.  She always carries it around in her back pocket.
  • i got a flip phone one at big lots. i'm not sure of the brand, but i saw them there last week.i think it was only like 6-7 bucks and she really likes it, even a couple months after she got it.

We have a Fisher Price one that DS loves...it's mostly white w/ a little red on it.  I think it's from Wal-mart, about $7-8.  I recently got a new cell and he does use my old phone - like pp, I've charged it so it still lights up, beeps, etc.  It doesn't call out, but it can still call 911 so I only let him play w/ it when I'm watching him - it's a great distraction for diaper changes.

  • We gave DS an old cell phone...it's the only one he likes playing with. Why can't they make one that looks and sounds like a regular cell phone????

This is what we do! Em has my old cell phone and we just plug it in and charge it up:) She can't dial any one but it lights up, she can push all the buttons and she's happy!

  • found a great one by the cash register at Walmart this weekend.  Girl and boy version.  it is a flip phone and makes noise like the real one.  Recommended for 3 + but he has been completely happy withit for 5 days now... well workth the $2.98

Ditto this.  DS loved this phone.  We lost it for awhile, but it's turned up, so we'll have to see if he still loves it.

I agree with whoever posted saying that there's nothing that compares to a real phone.  DS isn't even fooled by "his" cellphone which is a real cellphone with batteries that doesn't dial out.  He'd rather have mine or DH's.
