So a couple of months ago I told my neighbor that H and I were having trouble in the baby department. I couldnt stand her asking me every day( this is no lie) when are you going to have a baby..So I let her in on the deal and now im sure the whole neighborhood knows but whatever.

So I was outside talking with my girlfriend and she walks over to chat and starts talking about the baby shower this weekend (her daughter in law is pg....this is the shower i will be forced to attend sat) and in the middle of this she asks...so how are you guys doing in the department....now I know i totallly invited myself into this hell because i told her..but it was right in front of my girlfriend...what if my girlfriend didnt know????

she drives me crazy and it was really really uncomfortable for me...i just politely told her we are on a break and changed the subject right away back to the shower...

Your damned if you do and damned if you dont ya know.

I had a tough day as it is with my mother on the way to the beach asking me why we cant just do IUI..ugh. Its like I want to yell read a damn article or google something!!!!!!!!

I just feel so out of place sometimes. Like im this reproductivley challanged allien!!

Ugh, you're totally right on the damned if you do or don't... you're neighbor sounds really annoying... hopefully she wont' bring it up at the shower on Sat... I have to say the statement about your Mom made me chuckle, totally reminds me of my Mom, I had to tell her to educate herself and then we can talk about it

I don't have the best relationship with my mom. In fact, I talk to her about once every 2 months, and see her only about twice a year (even though we live in the same city). I did not tell her about our first IVF. However, my brother has a big mouth and told her. And then she proceeded to tell her WHOLE SIDE OF THE FAMILY. Which are all out of state and therefore knew nothing about our IF. And when I pointed out to her that I didn't necessarily want everyone knowing, she was like, well how was I supposed to know that. I was like "well, I didn't tell you did I? People are so dense sometimes.

Ugghhhh I am so sorry. That sounds annoying as all hell! You should come and go into your house with headphones on from now on!

BTW my mom does the same thing with the IUI. I think the "turkey baster" thing was popular in the 70's? (rolls eyes)?

ugh, your neighbor sounds so annoying...how does she not realize that this is personal and even though you filled her in (to get her to stop asking finally), she has no right to bug you about it. it's none of her business!! hopefully you telling her that you're on a break will shut her up for awhile. sorry she sucks

Geez....and I thought my mom was the only crazy one! She and my grandma get together and tell me how I need to take a vacation and relax. It's true that the stress accompanying TTC doesn't help, but they don't understand that there ARE other factors!!

You're not a reproductively challenged alien! Lol, I love the analogy though. It is very fitting. People have no understanding. Lucky them, I suppose....

If your neighbor ever brings it up again (god forbid) I would be prepared with a statement that you don't really discuss it openly and when you have something new to tell her then you will. I mean people should figure that out on their own, but obviously she has no manners.
