I'm a Mommy!

After a long wait, I am finally a mommy to beautiful Emilie Claire! I was scheduled to be induced the night of Aug 11th for an Aug 12th delivery. When we got to the hospital at 7pm I was already in the early stages of labor and didn't even know it. The contractions were 5-7 mins. apart. By 10pm that night I was in full on labor with contractions 1-2 mins. apart. It finally turned out I needed a c-sec. at 6:30 pm on the 12th b/c after stripping my membranes and breaking my water AND over 20 hrs. of labor I was only 1.5cm dilated. Apparently my hips only look like birthing hips, but in reality my pelvis is too small to ever have a vaginal delivery unless I have a very small baby. Despite the best laid plans, Emilie entered the world on the day she would have arrived on her own anyway and via a c-sec. All 7 lb. 15 oz. and 21.5in. of her was worth the wait....She truly is my IVF miracle.
