So when DH proposed was it romantic?
Mine was not, it went like this... So we been living together for 3 years we might as well get married... LOL Gotta love DH straight to the point!

My proposal was awesome and I would never have guessed it was coming when he did it.
Mine: At the Gaylord Palms ICE show he had "Will you marry me?" Carved into a 400lb block of ice. It was set up in this little hallway that tons of people had to walk by throughout the day. We finally get to it and I said "Oh, how cute, someone proposed!" and then I turned around and it was HIM on his knee. The rest of the story around that is a little longer, but that's the gist of it.
sort of. DH was coaching and I had been involved for a while since we were dating. So I showed up at his apartment the day of the end of season banquet and he said, "I'm giving the kids and helpers these sweats and t-shirt. Can you go try yours on to make sure they fit?" So I did. When I went downstairs he made me check the pockets and the ring was in one. He asked me to "make him miserable for the rest of his life" and I said yes of course.
It was fitting of our relationship so romantic, but not by the definition of romantic. lol
Mine was pretty sweet... I have always had a stuffed animal addiction (i need to join a group). We moved into our house a few days before my B-Day, and he gave me my presents early. After I opened a few his disappeared and returned with a Build-a-bear box.
Inside the box were 2 bears, a bride and a groom bear facing each other with the groom bear holding the ring. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Not really. I was doing laundry and he came out of the bedroom saying he had a question for me. Of course I wasn't expecting it, so I told him to hold on a minute.
When I started walking towards him he pulled out the box from behind his back and got down on one knee. He cried, I cried...then he goes, "Crap! I forgot to ask your dad first!" I told him they approved, but we ended up calling my parents moments after it happened. My mom was in hysterics and emailed everyone under the sun the good news!

Yes. hundreds of candles and loads of rose petals and a bottle of champagne, and the bended knee thing. I am not really into romance, but he is, and so he balanced it out by doing it at home, and not out in public. It was pretty awesome.
My DH is a fireman also I think it's in their blood! LOL
Kind of, I guess... we just decided we were going to get married. I picked out my ring, he bought it and we started planning our wedding. Then one night while we visiting my parents in TX (before we moved here), we were laying in my brothers bed and I was playing with my ring and he took it off my finger. He rolled over so he was looking directly at me and said "Ya know, I never actually proposed." I laughed and said "No I guess not." So he went into this speech about how much he loves me and knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. By this time, I was bawling. He kissed me sooo softly and whispered "Will you make me the happiest man in the world?" And put my ring back on my finger.
Ok so I guess it was pretty sweet. lol
yeah but they make great hubby's don't they!! LOL

Mine was and totally surprised me. It was a random Weds. I was having a terrible week at work and DH had said he wanted to make me a special dinner (DH is a chef) to make me feel better. Long story short, got home had a gourmet meal waiting for me, with tons of candles, champagne, still was clueless during the meal and at the end he had made me a special cookie and put it in the cookie...when I found it he got down on one knee.

My DH proposed in Central Park under a small foot bridge near the seals at the zoo.. it was raining a little bit, so we were under an umbrella... no one was really around, so it was perfect!
Mine was amazing. First I am Catholic and when we met I teased him that he was only 3/4 Catholic because he had not been Confirmed. When we started to get serious and talk marriage he got confirmed at the church I have gone to my whole life (and still do). We had looked at rings and what not and I kept thinking he would propose soon, every week I would say "do we have any plans this weekend". So one Thursday I came home from work and I was talking to my mom and my DD in the kitchen. My daughter would barely look at me, she had her head buried in her homework. I went to the bathroom, went back to the kitchen and then finally went to my room. On my bed was a dozen roses and an envelope. I knew what was going on. Turns out he had taken a half day and come over to ask my dad's permission eariler and he had plotted this all out with my DD days before. Couldn't believe she kept the secret!!
I opened the envelope and it had a letter telling me lovey stuff with a question at the end I had to answer and then my DD would give me the next envelope - (answer was place of our first date). Next one was where we first kissed, next one was place he first told me he loved me. Last clue said that I had helped him to complete a journey (getting confirmed) and so I was to go to that place which was also where we would begin our journey together. So I had to drive to our church (shaking) and he was sitting there in a suit in the same pew he had sat in the night he was confirmed (he got bored and counted pews that night). The first words out of my mouth were "are you allowed to do this here?". He said he was and he got down on one knee and proposed. Then we raced home showed off the ring and I got dressed up and we went out to dinner.
