How many IUI's did you do before moving on? I'm on my second 2ww right now and I feel like it didn't work (PMS, getting acne on my chin like I do right before af), my RE said that he'll only do 3 IUI's and then we'll try something different. At the time I never thought to ask what the next steps are, I'm currently taking femera and I'm wondering if we try a couple of IUI's with injectibles?
TIA
Re: IUI Question
I attempted 3 IUI cycles but the first was cancelled b/c I didn't respond to clomid at all. I moved to femara/injects then just injects before moving on to IVF.
i would have done IUI with clomid, but i never O'd.
i did 2 IUI's with injects, and the don't think egg and sperm are meeting, so i'm moving on to IVF.
but b/c they told me i had to wait so long to start the ball rolling, DH and I decided to do one more inject/iui cycle so we at least feel like we're being pro-active. . .even though they told us it most likely won't work.
it depends on your own body and comfort level. i woul definately sit down with your RE and DH and discuss your options!
Tara & Dave - TTC since September 2006
PCOS - dx 1999 (amenorrhea) | freakishly long fallopian tubes
Hypoglycemic | thyroid issues | severely anemic
Multiple Clomid cycles of 50, 100, 150 - absolutely no response
Follistim 50/100 | Follistim 75/125 | Follistim 100/150 IUI - all BFNs
Converted IVF - BFP - m/c | FET - BFN | IVF #2 = BFN
IVF #3
we did two TI cycles, and three IUI cycles with clomid. injects+IUI was not recommended for us, due to the risk of multiples (i respond just fine to clomid, we're MFI).
our decision about when to move to IVF was influenced by my desire to get off of clomid, try something new, but also our insurance. we have great insurance. without that, we might have chosen to do some additional IUIs.
good luck with your decision!
Because we're fancy like that.
i asked this same question yesterday, hope that helps!
