I am in the same boat and have reverted to unconventional breakfasts. Like stirfry meat and veggies on 1/3 or 1/2 cup of brown rice.
This morning I was in a real bind though and mixed greek yogurt with a little bit of left over sweet potato- that was a disaster and I do not recommend it!
For the past few weeks I have been having a Nutrigrain waffle with butter and sugar free sryup and a glass of crystal light OJ. My numbers have been good. I even throw in a glass of milk every now and again and still get good numbers.
On days that you can cook make a pretty decent batch of bacon or sausage and pop them in the microwave to counteract any carbs you may have. I can do zero fruits and minimal carbs unless I have at least two servings of protein to counteract it. I have had good luck sneaking in juice as long as I use the light of diet juices (usually a cranberry blend) because they only have 10g sugar and 10g carbs.
My staple is one frozen waffle with sugar free syrup and a scrambled egg!
Re: quick breakfast ideas-GD
you can microwave an egg in a cup also
... it all depends on your current levels, mine are pretty good so i'm allowed a bit more.
- oatmeal
- banana
- whole grain cereal (a little)
- whole wheat toast w/ peanut butter
all of this depends on what your nutritionist thinks you can have..
this morning i had 2 eggs/cheese on a whole wheat wrap (i usually take half of the wrap off) and my levels were 106

I usually do a protein shake and a yogurt. Very quick and easy!
