I think it's actually done around 28 weeks...do you have an appt coming up soon? It is kind of weird you haven't heard anything. I was sent home with the drink at my 24 week appt to drink before my next one a month later.
28 weeks is the standard. I was given the glucola as my 24 week appointment to take before my 28 week appointment. However I know some doctors have you show up and drink it there, and then wait there an hour. Perhaps your doctor's office does this. Just give them a call and ask.
I did the test yesterday. They did mention it at my last appointment, but it wouldn't have mattered if they hadn't. I drank the glucola, waited an hour, got blood drawn, and that was it.
I didn't get one because I was diagnosed with Hyperglycemia when I was 19 (borderline type II diabetes) .. so if you have a previously diagnosed blood sugar condition your dr. may do glucose panels on you and monitor your sugar over a period of time, but not the GTT.

I had an early screen at 16 weeks because of family history and my weight, and I have another tomorrow.

What schedule are you on for appts? If you're due to be seen at 30 weeks then you'll likely have it then, although technically I think I was on the 18/22/26/30 week schedule and at my 26 wk they told me to come in at 28 for it. It sounds like some girls get the drink ahead of time but for mine you just show up like any other appt and then have to do the test - which takes an hour.
I had mine today 28 weeks and 1 day. They told me at my last apt that I would have it done. I drank the drink when I got there, saw the doctor, and then went and got blood drawn.
mine didnt say anything about it until my 26ish week appt, then she wanted me to get it done between 27/28 weeks. You will probably be told to get it at your next appt.

My doctor didn't tell me anything. I just showed up for my appointment and they were like, OH BY THE WAY!! I figured it was because it wasn't real likely that I had it so they didn't bother warning me.
The first test isn't a big deal at all, drink some juice and get some blood taken. They probably didn't think it was a big need to tell you.
Re: lemme get this straight - EVERYONE gets a GD test?

Yes, my doctor sent me for it at 26 weeks. You will probably get it at your next appt.
