NB sized diapers/clothes?

How long did you use your NB sized clothes and diapers before LO grew out of them? We want to take advantage of buying diapers in bulk and she could use a few more onesies but I don't wanna go overboard if shes gonna grow out of things soon. She was 9lbs 4oz at birth so I know thats a factor too.

Re: NB sized diapers/clothes?

  • DD was 10 lb 13 oz....so she never even wore NB size!  ;-)

  • She used them until she was about 10 pounds. I say just get by with the clothes you have for now.
  • DS was 8lb at birth and wore NB things until last week. He still fits in the NB pants though. He's just too long for the onesies.

ETA: He's 11lb now if that helps any.

  • Maddie is near 11 pounds now, and just now growing out her new born clothes. We started in Size 1 diapers the day she hit 1 month old (there was a week or two there where NB diapers were too small, but size 1 seemed way too big, but we just rolled with it). GL!
  • Audra is still in NB everything.  I would have saved money buying in bulk and wish I would have! She was 6 lbs 11 oz at birth though.
  • We're finishing this pack and then switching to 1's. DS was 6.13 at birth, right now is almost 8.5 lbs but we get a leaks all the time with both Pampers and Huggies.

I was just reading some of the other posts..hmmmm maybe it's just my DH changing him wrong???

  • Diapers- 2 weeks

Clothes- she is just growing out of them now

  • Most NB clothes and diapers are meant to fit until 10lbs.  DS was 7lbs 3oz at birth and wore NB stuff until 6 weeks.

  • We only bought one box of NB diapers and we have been using size 1's for about a week and a half. She was 8lbs when she was born and is now 8.5. The size 1's are a little big, but I didn't want to buy any more NB.

We always had leaks every time DH changed them too. After I told him to be sure their penises were pointing straight down before he sealed up the diaper, we haven't had hardly ANY leaks with Pampers...Huggies, IMO, are not good for boys at all.

  • diapers- 3 weeks.  Clothes: 6 weeks.  She still fit into NB clothes but I wanted to start using the 0-3 mo. so we didn't skip over them!  And she was 8 lb. 8 oz. at birth

  • DD was 9# at birth and was 10# 7oz at her pedi appointment 2 weeks ago. She is still wearing NB onsies but was done with the diapers after about 4-5 weeks. She is sometimes wearing 3-6 month pants & footie sleepers already - long legs and ski feet like her mommy!!

  • We moved DD to size 1 diapers at around 10-11 weeks and she has just grown out of most of her NB clothes in the past week or so (she can still wear pants and dresses, but most sleepers and onesies are too small). She is on the smaller side though, 6lbs. 10oz at birth and she is just under 10lbs. now at almost 3 months.
  • LO only fit in NB onesies clothes for the first week - she is too long for them.  She is just barely fitting into NB diapers.  The size 1's seem a tad too large for her at the moment, but after this package of NB, we'll be moving up.  She was 8 lbs, 7.7 oz and 22 in long at birth.
