Did you take the days off of work for your ER and ET? I've noticed some people on the board are on bedrest after the ET. Is that common practice? We just had our teach session on Monday and I forgot to ask this. The nurse was kind of an airhead and I could have sworn she said I could come in for my ET during my lunch hour and go back to work. Additionally, I called yesterday to ask if there were any restrictions like caffine, alcohol, etc. and she told me everything in moderation is fine. I just feel like she is a total flake.
Re: ER and ET Question
Bedrest is common practice as I see it used more then not, my last clinic and my RE had a very strong belief that a embryo will snuggle in if you continue with life as usual and did not prescribe bed rest, just restricted strenuous activity and lifting of more then a gallon of milk. Also, everything in moderation was pretty much the norm at my clinic as well (I had a drink 3 days before my 5dt) It worked out pretty well in my case (my first clinic did bedrest and strict restrictions it didn't seem to help).
I did however take the day of the ET off as well as the day of ER - with ER you will be under anesthia so you need a full day of recovery time.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I think every dr has different ideas on bedrest after ET. My last dr didnt actually want me to do any bedrest...he said "they wont fall out" and wanted me to move around. My current dr wants 2 days of bedrest.
For your ER, you have to take the day off because of the anesthesia...I was fine for work the next day though.
IVF #1- I took the day of ER off- back to work the next day, my ET was on a Sunday and it happened to be memorial day weekend- so I was off for 2 days for ET- I just rested on the couch for 2 days.
IVF #2- (new RE) Took the day of ER off- back to work the next day- Took day of ET off- rested on the couch- back to work the next day- but took it easy until beta day. My RE was not strick about bedrest after ET- he said blood flow to the uterus was good. He said just act like I was an active 90 year old (HAHA)
As for caffeine and stuff- I cut out caffeine before IVF #1- I still have a soda now and then, but Im pretty much off it toally now. I have continued to stay that way even after my IVF's. I did not drink alcohol at all during any cycle, but I am not really a drinker so that was not a big deal.
Good luck!
