I have been wanting to get my daughters ears pierced but I dont know when the right age should be. She just turned 6 months yesterday. Is that a good age or do I wait longer? Please help. Indifferent

My mom pierced mine at 2 weeks old. I have yet to do my DD's. My DH is not very keen on the idea.

Ugh. Our pedi cleared us at 4 months. We don't plan to do it until she can tell us that she wants them and has the ability to care for them herself.

I think it can be whenever you want. I think little babies look cute with their ears pierced. So as long as you take care of them I sure there is no set age. My MIL is against ear piecring for babies so if I did it I would never hear the end of it. I think I'm just going to wait until Avery asks me to have it done, then we will do it.

I think I'll be waiting awhile, maybe when she's a year or so. Some pediatricians do it in the office.

My pedi won't do it till she is 6 months my bf wants to do then and i want to do it when she's 1.

I would ask your pedi cause I think there is a time frame you'd want to wait cause she could end up playing with them too much and could tear them out.

I always wanted them done but now that she's here I just can't do it, so now my plan is to wait until at least 1.

We were told after 3 months it was fine. We will be getting them done then.

Pierced DD #1at 3 months. We never had any problems with them. She grew up with them. She never played with them. They never got infected.

We did my nieces at 2 months and the only reason we haven't done DD's yet are that her lobes are too small!!! I think 6 months is definitely a good age.

Thanks for all the replies. They are very helpful. I haved talked to me DH and he wants to wait and I would like to get them done. He says she is to young but I think that she would look cute.
