We are FF Isabelle and since she is still so little, we are pretty much feeding her on demand. Ideally, we'd like to feed her a full 3 oz bottle every 3-4 hours or so, so that she is nice and full and can settle down for a good nap. Well, she has different ideas and can get hysterical as little as an hour from her last feeding. She is obviously hungry - making rooting faces, chewing her hand, and taking the bottle right away. But she'll only take a little, or if she takes alot she'll spit it up. H says that if I feed her I am encouraging a behavoir of being comforted by food and encouraging snacking. But she seems starving. Have you ladies dealt with this?
Re: FF babies and demand feeding
You can not have food issues this young. I promise!
I second the pp. Try to feed a little, burp a little, feed a little, etc. Especially with FF, there are so many bubbles in the bottle that can upset little tummies.
Be prepared that your LO is going to eat when she wants, as much as she wants, and she's not going to understand that you want to get her on your schedule. :-(
My LOs are still FF on demand. Every day is different in terms of scheduling. I hope your LO gets straightened out soon. Good luck!
