not as good as I would have liked but I have nothing to compare it with as this was our 1st IVF.
They actually retrieved 28 eggs instead of 27 as previously thought. They did ICSI on 14 eggs and 6 fertilized, 6 didn't and 2 fertilized but degenerated. They did conventional on the remaining 14 eggs and only 1 fertilized normally, 12 didn't, and 1 abnormally fertilized. Apparently they are going to do secondary ICSI on the 12 eggs that didn't fertilize. Does anyone have any experience doing secondary ICSI?
So we only have 7 embies in the running and that's all we know at this point. I asked the nurse if that is a low number of embies for all the eggs we got and she said that would be a question for the RE but that she did think that was a low #. I was hoping for more. I doubt that we'll have any leftover to freeze.
Ugh. Very disappointing. Nurse said she'd call tomorrow.
