Infertility

Insurance question

I seen my OB/GYN in June and I just got a copy of a letter from BC/BS that they sent to her stating that they needed documents for Treatment of Infertility.

My visit had nothing to do with infertility, it was a follow up visit from my visit in March because I was having a 14 day period.

Do I call the billing office at the Dr.'s office because they coded it wrong or do I call the insurance company? Or maybe I should call both?

Re: Insurance question

  • I would call the billing office first and then follow up with the insurance. Usually, someone isnt communicating clearly :)

This.  I had to do this w/ BCBS and it was their error.  GL
  • Call BCBS first.  If it is a billing error, they can tell you what to tell your DR's office.
  • Thanks ladies. I work where my Dr. is so I asked the billing ladies the first thing this morning and my bill wasn't even coded for Infertility. I hate BC/BS. It seems that no matter what I go to the Dr. for, they seem to think that it's infertility related.

I wish I could choose my healthcare like I do my clothes. BC/BS has done nothing but cause me added stress and it doesn't do me any damn good anyway. Angry
