I was wondering if anyone has any good references for books or websites that give guidence to choosing the best childcare, be it family, in-home care, center etc. DH and I are a little divided as to what is best for our LO/us. We also have budget constraints (who doesn't though). He is also pushing for what is cheapest (his mother) while I am much more emotional about the whole decision (ahhh, not his mother).
I know when it comes down to it, it will fall into place and be a "gut check" decision. But DH is a very factual, by-the-book type of decision maker so I was thinking maybe something factual will help us come to a decision.
Re: Choosing Childcare- website or books?
Ditto this. Although something like this might help you:

FWIW, it may muddy the relationship you all have with his mom, especially given your response. Maybe look at a compromise and try to find care for your child 3-4 days a week and his mom takes one. Or use his mom as the backup for holidays and sick time.

this is a good site and you should try to google and find your local childcare referral agency. They can help you out with options, letting you know what's out there in your area.
