Crap!!!! Anyone rec a new TV

So glad we dropped 4K on a fancy TV nearly 5 years ago. Yesterday it started acting funny and now nothing. Awesome! Thanks Mitsubishi for making a TV to only last 5 years. UGH!!!!! Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!

Any recs for a good TV that will last? The 36in Sharp DH got when he was in 7th grade is still going strong in the our bedroom. So frustrated right now! But the good news is TV's are sooooo much cheaper than they used to be. I still want to slam my head against the wall though.

    We have a Samsung...not sure the model or whatever...it's a 54". We also have a HUGE (like 60 something inches) Hitachi big screen that we've had for at least 10 years.

    I really like the Samsung and recommend it. We also have a Vizio in our upstairs media room. That's nice but rarely watched on so I'm not sure exactly how it is.

    Try Costco, they have fabulous prices on TVs. That's where we got our Vizio and I think our Samsung one. GL! And sucks that your tv went out after ONLY 5 years. Can't you call their warranty # or see how much it is to repair it. Maybe it's something simple, like a fuse? Either way, GL!

    We have a Samsung as well, I think it's 56".  We love it.  It looks nice, has a great picture, and is slim.  We've only had ours for 1.5 years.

    For some reason 5 years ago we chose the Mitsubishi over the Samsung. Should've went with the Samsung. Looks like it's something to do with a board or something and it's about $1250, so may as well buy a new one for that price. Then the guy said after you repair that another common problem with the board is the color wheel. I've got 65 inches of junk on my entertainment center. However, we did have a 19in LCD that was in our office. It now sits in front of the 65 inches of junk.

    We have a Sharp Aquos. And my dad works for Sharp so I can vouch for their reliability :)

    We have a Samsung in the media room, we love it.  I think it is 56 not sure. We have not had any problems with it. and we have had it for about 5 years now. 

    We also have a Vizio that work pretty good, it is not HD so you can see some of the graininess in the picture, but that is with the particular model we have and not the brand itself.

    we have a Samsung LCD as well and love it, however we recently had problems with it that sound kind of like the issues you have with your old one, ours is almost 3 years old. They had to replace the board which would have been really expensive. We had done the service plan when we got it so we didnt have to pay to get it fixed, the tech said he has seen alot of those problems with the LCDs not just Samsung. I have never been a fan of service plans on most things but will admit I was glad i listened to my DH this once. :)

    We bought a 42" Panasonic last fall and have had no problems with it.  Love the picture and sound quality.
