If the title has something in it that I am interested in or feel I have adequate knowledge about. Also I will open any post with a red star but I won't neccessarily respond.
I, too, like a cleverly worded subject. I also look for subjects that I might be able to help answer questions about. Also, BFP/BFN/need support posts, and polls.

Ditto this.....Also if it is someone's story that I have followed.
Ditto: if it is asking something I am involved in or know about then I respond. I am also a sucker for a sad story and even if there are 87654351684 replies I will still reply and say something.
Honestly, there is so much that I don't know about personally on this board so I don't respond that much. But if we are talking testicles and spermies I am there like white on rice!
DH-NOA confirmed with TESE, ME-Unexplained

Cracks me up every time!
Either it is about beer or you like to lift kilts.... either way... love it!

interesting title, something i've experienced. . . .offer support even if its just a hug b/c i have no information or advice to give. . .
also, time. if i don't have a lot of time, i skim through and read, but may not respond. if i'm really short on time, i just check on names of people who i know are waiting for or going through something.
sometimes i have nothing but time and read EVERYTHING but don't have something to say. or sometimes i do. sometimes i never post sometimes i'll respond to everything. . . i guess i'm a tempramental nester.

Converted IVF - BFP - m/c | FET - BFN | IVF #2 = BFN
IVF #3
I'm gonna go with: subject matter, title, BFP/BFNs and people needing support. Also like the polls when I have time to respond and the fun links to pics and videos.

since I can't do any of this at work, it really honestly depends on my time. If I am short for time, I scroll through and read issues that i am following or posts that sound like something I can either add my 2cents too or am interested in myself. Only responding to a few.
If I have time then I really do try to respond to all that I can but many times I just read / lurk and wait till I have time to reply.
I almost always looks when the post has a really high view rate. Often it will be a boring subject but a lot of people will view it because they know the poster has important / interesting information.
What a great question. I love this board so very much, but I will say that at times it seems like you have to be "well known" to get readers and replies. I feel like as a newbie I often get very few readers/replies. The ones I get are great and much appreciated.... maybe I just have boring topics and need to get more creative
I do love the polls too!!

I try to respond to most MFI posts, any ivf questions I can answer and any post relating to a ivf cycle that isnt going perfectly...bc these are the posts I feel my input might be most relevant to. I respond to any bfp post I catch that isnt a drive by. I will respond to a bfn post but only if it says SAIF.
Cleverly worded subject posts get my attention and I usually respond.
I guess it depends on how much I am, or am not, working.
I, too, like a cleverly worded subject. I also look for subjects that I might be able to help answer questions about. Also, BFP/BFN/need support posts, and polls.
This. The only thing I would add is that if I have followed someone's story or cycled with them I will open all of their posts.
Ditto PP, the title catches me I'll go in and reply. Also, other than the general congrats and good luck's, I have to have something meaningful to say in response. If it is simply a ditto and a number of other people have already ditto'd I wont bother. If I have something meaningful to say, then i'll reply.

I am most likely to open posts with technical questions. I like to try to help people with the knowledge I've gained over the last almost-four years. That said, I tend to avoid posts that seem to indicate they contain the same question some asked yesterday and the day before and the day before...
I also tend to open (and respond) to posts where women are having a bad IF day as those can be very isolating times and it's nice to know you're not alone.

I will respond if it is something I have been through before or have knowledge about.
or..if its a fun poll (like the day you were on a roll with poll making).
A BFP for a person that I have seen on the board and have followed their story. BFNs are the same situation.

TMI in the title gets me in every time

and if it is a topic that i am curious about or relates to me, or if someone is just having a bad day and needs to know that they are not alone
A clever title or a subject matter that I know about or, admittedly, if I am "friends" with the poster
