Sex before HSG

Hello ladies,

I am scheduled for an HSG on Thursday and am super freaked out.  I was not told much about any restrictions or preparations.  Is it ok to have sex before or should I wait till a few days after it is done?  My doctor did not say anything about it, but I did not ask either.

    I'm not sure about before, but I know the paperwork I got about it said no sex for 2 days after.

    It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!

    You can have sex whenever you want, according to when I had it at least. I wasn't in the mood the day of (I was crampy and bloated all day), but I was fine after that.

    You can always call your dr and ask for details. They've heard more unusual questions for sure.

    Good luck with your HSG. I have had 3 and personally, I wouldn't have sex before it, just because they stick a cathedar (sp) up there and if there is left over sperm, etc leaking, it would have been a bit embarrassing for me.

    it's been awhile since I'd had an HSG, but I remember mine had to be scheduled for pre-Ovulation and I was told no sex beforehand. They want to be sure you're not possibly pregnant before you get it done.

    I was told absolutely NO SEX before the HSG. That was the appointment scheduler at the radiologist's that told me that.

    "Lucky" us, DH just has neurosurgery on his back yesterday so we won't be having sex anytime soon anyway. Sad
