Choking..

So DD was doing very well with her disolving snack, She would suck on them in her fingers and then put it in her mouth. Now she just puts them in her mouth and is now choking. Face turning purple and her coughing until i beat her back to spit it out. SO scary!

Did anyone else's child do this? Im not sure if i should stop giving them to her or will she learn to suck/chew? She really loves them and it was nice to give her treats...

Re: Choking..

  • My DD had some problems choking on some of the bigger disolving snacks, so I just broke them in half for a few weeks.  Now she does fine with all of them.

  • i'd take a break w/ them.  DD started doing that w/ her bananas.  she used to chew them, then for some reason she wanted to swallow her little pieces whole.  we had a choking scare last wk and i haven't given her one since.  i will though soon - i'm hoping it was just a weird day.
