Working moms - do you get jealous

when you see other mom's with their LO's?

I do - makes me miss M even more.

Re: Working moms - do you get jealous

  • Yes. It also makes me jealous when my aunt who watches dd twice a week posts what dd is doing at her house right that moment on Facebook. It's cute, but I wish I could be there in person to see it.

  • Yes, which sucks because there's a pedi's office in my building.

  • Yes of course-especially when I look out my office window at the park and see kids with their parents. I know I could never be a SAHM fulltime but I would love to do it part time if I could.

  • Yes.  I wish I had just 1 weekday off to spend with her.  The weekends go by way too fast!
  • Yup, totally. Walking back from the gym at lunch, I always see women out with babies in strollers and my heart hurts a little. Especially when I'm on my way back to work where I feel like work is a waste of my time and intelligence.
  • I went to get lunch & there was a couple wit a newbie - I'd say a month old - he was sooo cute.

I had to restrain myself from talking to them.   Then I missed M and then I wanted a 2nd baby.  Yeesh.  Hormones much?

  • I do, I do! I love having a career, but sometimes I get jealous that other moms are leisurely window shopping with their babes while I chase my ambition. It's confusing...

  • Yes and no. If I was a SAHM, I would be jealous of women who have careers. Its a catch 22. I did cut my hours back though, and that helped me SO much.
  • Ideally I would love to work P/T so I can have days with my DD and then have days at work but I can't.  So, yes, I get jealous.

  • My MIL watches him for me and I am so,so thankful for it. However, I do get jealous. It is a natural reaction but something I have to deal with myself and not something I would ever bring up. The only times I bring things up about being jealous is if she does something intentionally that I told her not to.

  • Not usually jealous.  Most of the time when I see moms with their kids, it's when I've run to Target to pick up lunch/diapers/whatnot and am glad that I don't have to lug the carseat in with me.  Yeah, I miss her, but errands are more convenient alone.  Also, it helps when the moms I see are moms of 2+ kids, at least one of whom is acting up, or she's trying to make a quick escape but it's become impossible.

We are trying to make this happen in our family.  But it's not possible with my current job and so far I am not having any luck finding a pt job that pays enough money.  ::Sigh::

  • No.  I don't get jealous of all of my SIL's who have not saved for retirement and/or have to work evenings and weekends to make ends meet.  I'm also not jealous of SIL who had to return to school to earn a degree b/c she was out of the workforce for so long.  Besides, DD loves daycare.

I AM jealous of the rich who have enough money to not worry about these things, but that's another story.  :)

this is the only way i could ever become a SAHM....  =[

  • Yes- I work at a doctor's offices. Lots of babies and their Moms coming through- but for all I know- the Mom just took off work to bring them in. Sometimes it bothers me more to see the baby because then I want to leave work and go home to be with mine.
