I'm thinking of trying to switch DD to generic formula since she's pretty much 100% formula fed now since I'm back at work and is eating so much. I'm wondering what the difference really is between name brand and generic. I've compared labels and it seems like more of the ingredients are the same and the generics are WAY cheaper. She also seems to have some constipation issues right now with the name brand stuff - maybe the switch would be good for her system??
Anyone have a successful switch or a not-so successful switch? DD is on Similac Sensitive right now.
TIA!
Re: Name Brand vs. Generic Formula?
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I am not sure what generic brand is the same as Similac but Target brand is the same as Enfamil. We tried it and DS had a ton of spit up, we ultimately ended up going back to the brand name, I don't know why it caused so many problems.
We switched back to Enfamil and the spit up stopped.
Good luck with the switch!
I just switched DD from Similac Sensitive to Target brand. We've had no problems at all. It's seriously $10 cheaper/can and you get (slightly) more in each can!
You might buy a can and then do 50/50 mix, see how she does and then switch.
I recently switched from Similac advance to parents choice (walmart) and haven't noticed any diff. DD eats well and has no problems.
