In the past couple weeks I have noticed that any amount of even slightly extended activity (sweeping the house, folding and putting away laundry, even blowing out my hair!) has made my lower back really ache and hurt. It's not so much in the middle as it is the muscles on either side of the spine. Does anyone know any safe strengthening exercises or stretches to help build these muscles. The ones I can think of typically involve lying on your stomach.
Re: Good exercises/stretches for back?
Prenatal yoga has helped me so much. I started at 16 weeks and went from daily back pain to no pain.
I skipped two days recently and all the back pain returned immediately - it was crazy. The yoga definitely makes a huge difference for me, and it's only 20 or 30 min a day.
