  • Welcome. Don't worry to much about it we all were scared and found out that it was not so bad after all. Hope things go well for you today. Breath........it will be fine.

Let us know how it goes.

  • I don't have any advice since I'm not to that stage yet, but I wanted to say Good Luck! I have heard it's really not as bad as you think it will be! Let us know how it goes!!!

  • Welcome! What kind of adoption are you doing? It is a breeze. We had our home study last week and it was so easy.  She just asked us some questions about our families, our neighborhood and how we plan to parent.  Nothing was unexpected.

  • Hi, and welcome.

To be honest, I've had tougher job interviews than my homestudy--but maybe that's just because I wear my heart on my sleeve, so talking about my family was a breeze and a pleasure!  Really, don't stress yourself out.  It's not an inspection so much as a "getting to know you."  As long as there are no skeletons in your closets (pun intended), you should do just fine!

Good luck (not that you'll need it), and come back tomorrow to let us all know how it went!

  • Welcome and good luck!! Our home visit was really laid back. Our social worker just looked in the rooms and asked us how old the house was and all .... that was it. The rest of the time we talked. She didn't open cabinets, or check the fridge, she didn't even walk into the rooms lol. She just peeked in!
