1. What is your diagnosis? PCOS (but maybe going to be unexplained or secondary if I continue to ovulate and don't get pg)
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? u/s, b/w, physical appearance, secondary amenorrhea (used to get periods and don't anymore), weight
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? not yet, but I am thinking something else may be going on
Re: Poll: What is your diagnosis?
1. MFI, PCOS, septate uterus
2. MFI = SA. PCOS = u/s, FSH/LH ratio, testosterone, AMH. Septum = HSG, SHG and MRI.
3. Yes. Originally it was only MFI. I had to beg for PCOS testing after 2 IVF chemical pregnancies and lo and behold, the testing came back indicating I have PCOS. Then, I begged for an SHG since the HSG indicated an arcuate uterus. The nurse did the SHG wrong and said all was clear. I got a second opinion (and another SHG and MRI) showing that I did have an issue with my uterus. I left my RE after that.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
1. What is your diagnosis? fibroids
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? u/s, hsg, sono-hystogram, mri
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? i was unexplained, but they just did the sono-hystogram in june and found the fibroids1. Slightly low morph & slightly elevated E2 & insulin. Not enough to call either MFI or PCOS, but enough to be here.
2. HSG, internal u/s for me; lots of b/w for both of us; SA for DH.
3. We're still technically "unexplained" yet have an explanation (or 2!) about why we aren't pregnant yet. Who knows?
1. What is your diagnosis? Cystic Fibrosis, which causes too-thick CM
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? Well, I was diagnosed with CF as a baby via a sweat test, and then later on genetically tested. As far as CM issues, no testing has been done to diagnose it, it's just assumed. I did have an HSG, CD3 bloodwork, and MH had a SA, and everything came back fine.
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? No. But I still wonder if there isn't something else going on because I know many women wih CF has no issues TTC. I'm glad we are getting a second opinion tomorrow.
1. What is your diagnosis?
Both tubes totally blocked.
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you?
HSG was really the only one needed for my diagnosis. I had a bunch of other tests as routine for IVF, and those basically rulled out any other problems (u/s, FSH, E2, SA). I had to insist on the HSG after my ectopic pregancy, had to switch OB to get it.
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey?
No

1. What is your diagnosis? PCOS
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? b/w
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? yes, was diagnosed w/ pcos after ttc
1. I don't have a diagnosis at this point, but I have an appointment w/ my RE next week and will be asking about PCOS. DH's SA was normal.
2. After years of having relatively normal cycles, I had multiple anovulatory and 50+ day cycles last year (which got me the initial RE referral). I had an HSG late last year, and then this year, I was dx'd w/ a non-TTTC issue and had a slew of tests and bloodwork done for that. My bloodwork showed a slightly elevated testosterone level, and my MRI notes state they saw small cysts on both ovaries. I've had multiple ultrasounds w/ my RE since then though and he's never said a word about cysts.
3. Not yet, but I almost wish they would find something so we could know how to fix it.
1. What is your diagnosis? PCOS, high insulin, uterine growths, borderline high FSH, uterine infection, continuous ovarian cysts...
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? u/s, b/w, HSG, SIS

1. What is your diagnosis? MFI
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? Day 3 blood work, HSG, SA
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? Nope.
1. What is your diagnosis? Slight DOR, Endo, RPL, ovulatory dysfunction, auto-immune issues
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you?
DOR - antral follicle count on u/s, response to injectible meds, waiting on results from AMH test to confirm
Endo - lap (I had no symptoms, but we wanted to rule things out....found Stage 1-2 endo)
RPL - RE thinks they are all from abnormal eggs, however immune issues may be playing a part
Auto-immune - this was part of the RPL testing, and I tested positive for one anti-phospholipid antibody and borderline abnormal natural killer cells. Waiting on karyotyping results.
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? Yes....we started as ovulatory dysfunction/unexplained, then everything started to snowball from there. I've had to insist on most of the testing we've had done to determine my issues.
1. . What is your diagnosis? Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (HA). I am thin, but not THAT thin- I attribute it mostly to stress.
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? u/s, b/w, physical appearance, secondary amenorrhea (used to get periods and don't anymore), weight? Freaking ALL of the above
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? On top of the HA dx with Muticystic (not PCOS- lots of little cysts but no string of pearls) and Ovarian Dysfunction
1. What is your diagnosis? Possible PCOS (told I have polycystic ovaries), MFI, septate uterus (fixed!)
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? MFI: SAs. PCOS: u/s. I'm pretty sure it's correct since I do have some of the other symptoms. Septum: hysteroscopy, where it was removed
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? Originally we started out with anovulation after I m/c, but then the SA showed the MFI.
1. What is your diagnosis? PCOS, RPL, mild endo, ovarian cyst and uterine polyps. Those were removed with lap.
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? b/w, lap. I don't actually have the classic cysts on my ovaries often found in PCOS. My bloodwork indicated that I have PCOS, though.
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? I was seeing 1st RE for a year and a half and did 3 cycles of Clomid/IUI. Got a BFP with 3rd cycle of Clomid/IUI that ended in m/c. Then we did 2 cycles of injectables/IUI with the 2nd cycle ending in an ectopic. We then ended seeking a 2nd opinion and new RE did a lap on me. They found I had mild endo and uterine polyps. They also found I have 3 different clotting disorders (which are being treated) that could have contributed to RPL.
1. Cervical factor, elevated prolactin, stage II endo
2. B/w, U/S, post-coital, HSG, Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy
3. Yes, we just kept adding more and more onto the diagnosis as we did further testing.
1. No diagnoses right now other than annovulatory
2. HSG, bw, SA (for DH of course)
3. I'm sure it will when we have further testing with the RE.
1. What is your diagnosis? Severe MFI and luteal phase defect/low quality ovulation.
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? Him: SA, bloodwork. Me: Bloodwork, ultrasounds. I knew I had lpd just from temping though, but my RE didn't believe me until he actually did an u/s to verify my O date and then I got AF less than 10 days later.
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? Initially everyone thought DH was the whole problem, and that I was perfectly fertile.1. What is your diagnosis? Unexplained
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? bloodwork, HSG, SHG, SA
3. Did your diagnosis change during your TTC journey? Nope. I was hoping they'd figure out what was wrong with us eventually, but on paper we're perfect.

2. Endo: surgery, FHS & AMA: blood work, DOR: combo of bloodwork, low AFC, and poor response
3. My endo diagnosis stated my TTC journey. We started trying b/c I was opposed to doing 6 month Lupron Depot therapy. We started working with an RE 6 cycles after the endo diagnosis as to not waste any time.
1. What is your diagnosis? "habitual aborter" (lovely huh?) and low P4 / weak ovulator, 2 blood clotting issues
2. What tests did they do to diagnose you? 3 miscarriages in a row, RPL, bloodwork, post coital

1. Pituitary issues. I had a macroadenoma removed in April 2008 which had basically rendered my pituitary useless in terms of producing 'baby-making hormones.'
2. I never got my period after going off bcps so my ob/gyn took blood and saw that my prolactin level was high, but not too high. She sent me to get an MRI of my pituitary and boom, there was the tumor.
4. No. All of this was done before we started TTC.
