Spotting after internal?

I had another internal this morning. A few hours later and I've started spotting. I'm assuming this is totally fine and nothing to worry about. Could this be the beginning on my mucus plug or is it more likely my cervix was just irritated by the exam? Either way...I'm hoping it leads to more changes.

I never spotted but my dr. told me that I might. It is common.

I spotted with my first internal and nothing with my second. I got nervous with the first and called the doc because I had some cramping also, but they just said its normal and unless the spotting becomes heavy I should be okay.

Last year I had a huge gush of blood after my first internal. My OB said unless it worsened not to worry. She said it should peter off. By the next day it was brown spotting and then it was gone.

This year I have had red spotting and brown spotting after my internals. But really just spotting, not gushes.
