DS is sobbing for milk

He's had a stomach bug since late yesterday.  Puking last night.  Diahrea this morning.  His last bad diaper was around 10.  After that he told me he was hungry.  He had a banana and a bunch of saltines.  He's also had some water, some pedialite and some cranapple juice - he kept changing his mind!  He napped from 11-1:30.  I just gave him rice and applesauce for lunch and he's eating like he's starving.  But in between bites he's crying for milk.

I'm playing with fire if I give in and give him milk, right?

  • I would really hold off on milk if you can until at least dinner time.  Poor guy - hope he feels better soon.

  • DON'T DO IT!  You'll  be sorry if you do.  I'm not sure if it's too soon, but I'd try some activia to get the bacteria that digest milk sugars back in his system before I give milk.

  • Same thing happens with DD :(  It is so sad.  She is so miserable when she is sick and it is so hard to keep it from her.  I did hear from a ped that you can give them soy milk, I think?  We would also try severly watering down the regular milk, although I am not sure that it helped.  It was just heartbreaking.  Hugs!
  • I would hold off on milk until at least tomorrow, providing he is symptom free for the rest of today.  We just dealt with the puking over the weekend.  Kept her off milk until last night (she puked only 3x on Friday night, no diahreah).
