I have Kaiser and honestly I love them. I'm in Colorado though and I know they are much bigger in California so you may have a different experience, but my aunt has them in California and she loves them too. GL on your decision.

A stowaway on board!
My only complaint so far is that their rates have gone up every year. As far as coverage, I have had no problems. However, I have not had the baby yet, so we will see.....
I have been really happy with my coverage. I am considered in the South Bay and its one of the better Kaisers in the area. Im not sure about the OC. You can PM me with any questions. Good Luck!
Kaiser is ok--but you have to be proactive and insist on what you want--
I deleivered in Anaheim with DS--great expereince and knowledgeable staff--this time around im in BP--started off shakey and I considered swithcing (I also have blue cross)--but once i spoke to the right people, i know only see one of two dr's who answer my emails promptly and i get my appts on time--have yet to see what the delivery process is like--GL
I was on Kaiser when I lived on the east coast and had no complaints. I was only seen through the 2nd tri, though, before I moved and switched insurance.
My sister has them, she delivered at Irvine Medical Center (now closed, Kaiser used to contract with them, but built their own hospital across the street, she was one of the last women to deliver there). Not sure where you are in OC. She likes Kaiser generally, I hate them, would never use them personally. She used to complain about this midwife that every time she saw her, she introduced herself like they had never met. She was also diagnosed with placenta previa? ( placenta covering cervix) at her big ultrasound so she asked the same lady about having another ultrasound (to see if the placenta had moved) but before she could even get that part out, the lady snapped at her "No, there are no more ultrasounds." So my sister responded with "So, I guess we don't care to see if my placenta has moved and are just scheduling a c-section?" Lady looks in her file, and goes "Oh, oh, yes, we will do another to see if it moved, sorry". She had the impression that they never even looked at her file before coming in for her appts., and was kind of disappointed because this was her first and even though she had me, still really felt like she didn't know what was going on.
She did however LOVE her doctor, once she finally got to see her (towards the end) and is very happy that this time (she is due in Feb) she gets to see her doctor at every appt. No word on what it's like to deliver in an actual Kaiser hospital out here, sorry. I know my cousin wasn't happy with her deliveries there (she was in LA county)

I would post over on the LA and OC nest and baby boards. ?They are slow, but maybe someone will have used them.
I have not used them personally, but the stories I have heard were not good. ? It may also depend on the hospital.?
