Anyone else with a shoe licker?

Morgan takes her shoes off (usually the right one) and licks them. She doesn't have a preference for a specific shoe - it can be her sneakers, skimmers, sandals or whatever. I put her in her carseat and she takes it off and gets to licking or sucking on the straps.

I had to pull the car over this morning and take them off of her feet because it grossed me out so much. From now on, she is going to be shoeless. I hope she grows out of this before winter comes.

I don't know why I need solidarity with this one but for some reason, I do! :)

    I am also the mother of a shoe licker.  I do not understand it.

    We are also a member of the shoe-licker club. He can't get his sneakers off, but if he has sandals on, forget it. They are off in 2 seconds and in the mouth. Totally gross.

    Benjamin does this all the time!  He gets our shoes out of the shoe basket by the front door and puts them in his mouth.  I think he is biting them.  I had to put all of my flip flops upstairs bc those were his favorites :-o

    not a shoe licker... but timmy makes a beeline for peoples shoes to put them in his mouth. flip flops seem to be his favorite. it's repulsive.

    Yup she doesn't discriminate either. She licks DH's shoes, mine, hers, the boys it is bad.

    Ahhh, thanks I feel so much better now.

    It's so nasty, why can't she just suck on her shirt or something. I cringe whenever I see her doing it...eww.

    Oh no you are not alone. MH thinks I'm neurotic because I put her shoes on, she walks with me to the car, I take off the shoes once she's in the seat, and put them back on (and off again) when we get to our destination. Thank goodness she's mainly in Crocs so it's relatively easy to do but I simply can NOT watch her go to town on those things while I'm driving.

    Liev is an equal opportunity shoe licker.  It doesn't matter whose shoes they are, if he can get his hands on them they are game.

    She doesn't lick them but she does chew on them. She will chew on any shoe she gets her hands (mouth) on.

    And flip flops are a favorite here, too.

    I am also the parent of a shoe licker.  DS does not go after other people's shoes, just his own.  He doesn't take his shoes off, though.  The shoe goes in his mouth while it's on his foot.  This happens in the carseat, stroller and shopping cart.  It's so gross.

    Will doesn't lick his own shoes because we can't get him to wear them.

    However, if he finds someone else's shoes, he'll chew on them like it's the best piece of meat in the entire world.

    Our DCP has to keep all of the other kids' shoes right outside the front door so Will can't get to them. LOL

    I like privacy. A lot.

    I'm glad my DD isn't the only weirdo Embarrassed  DD bites her shoes, I swear she's either going to rip them apart or loose a tooth.  I take them off when she's in the carseat.

    Yup, DS chews on his shoes all the time, he actually did it right in front of our pedi a couple weeks ago when we had him there for an ear infection..lol. Its so gross and I am always telling him ...Its yucky and don't do that but he just laughs.

    I feel so much better now, knowing that my son is not the only one.. I just don't know what it is about shoes.  I figured maybe he saw the dog do it.Big Smile  Gross!!

    Yes, it is one of DD's favorite past times. She likes it even more because I don't want her to do it.

    Mine was licking her Robeez earlier. I took a pic for you. She took it off while I was cleaning and started chewing/licking it.
