DH really loves the name Brooklyn, and I love Brooke but think Brooklyn is waaay too common (and he hates Brooke, so I won't get it anyways!)..Whatdyathink?
Wouldn't it be easier to name the baby without DH?
YES! It would be so much easier to name the LO w/o DH. I like Brooklyn even if it is becoming popular. But, we already have a son named Breckin and I'm just not going to do that to myself...
It's ranked 47 for popularity nationally - but then it's not in the top 100 for most east coast states (too close to the actual borough, I guess). It's number 7 in Utah.
It's a good example of a name with a popularity that varies dramatically by region.
i really like brooklyn, with brooke as a nn. i also like brooke alone. as far as popularity goes, i tend not to really care. even the most popular name these days is only about 1% of the population. popular names now aren't really the "heathers and jennifers" of our day.
Re: How popular?
I love Brooke. I think Brooklyn is ugly and trendy. I don't know how trendy Brooke is, it doesn't strike me as overly popular.
All DHs should be bound and gagged until the baby is named. :-)
