... how MIL can talk to me like she knows my baby more than me. Last night we were over there for dinner and Brooke started to get a little cranky.
MIL: Does she need a bottle?
Me: Not just yet.
MIL: What about bed time?
Me: Nope.
MIL: Well, she tends to get cranky when she wants to eat or sleep.
Oh, well I did not know that!! I guess the 168 hours a week I spend with her have taught me nothing. I am pretty sure that if Brooke needed something I would have gotten it for her. I do not like being talked to like I have no idea what it going on.
// pet peeve. It drives me nuts!
Re: I will never understand...
LOL The best part is that her little tutorial applies to any baby and doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out anyway. Your MIL is super smart!
Hey Jess, if Brooke is crying, it usually means she wants to eat, sleep or cuddle. I would know. I'm her e-Aunt. YWIA.
My MIL always say the same thing. I can never have my kids dressed warm enough. They can have a snowsuit on in the middle of July and she'll think they are cold....LOL
Yeah. mine really doesn't say too much about how we parent, but she did say something when we were out not too long when Aiden was getting cranky because he didn;t want to sit in his high chair he wasnted to walk around the restaurant. She said that she would hold him so he doesn't cry. MH just looked at her and said. 'no he can sit in the chair. He needs to learn that he can't get everything."
OMG, so THAT is why she is crying!?!? Dang, I was on a completely different track. I was convinced it was because she either wanted to shop or needed to meet Audrey, her e-cousin!
Oh my gosh, this too! And DH buys into it and goes nuts as well. Last night we had to walk out the door to our car and drive the whole 2 miles home... they both made me bundle her up for the trip.
Well clearly it's always a little bit about her missing Audrey. That's natural.
Audrey cries because she misses Brooke like every.single.day.
