Poll: Do you and DH feel differently about TTC #2? (Or #3 or more)

Just curious how everyone varies on how you feel verses your DH when it comes to having additional children. I almost feel like DH is trying to sabotage me into having another baby right now, and it's been very sudden, so I was just curious! I'm not ready to have #2, but seems DH is!

No we have both pretty much been on the same page. We wanted to have #2 fairly soon and then wait a few years to have a few more. Really I think DH just "wants" to do whatever I want to do, lol. I like it that way

DH was asking me when we would try for #2 while I was still recovering (like a month out) from delivering #1. Um, sweetheart, as much as I love you I can promise you I have not considered the idea.

We agreed that we would revisit when Kate was about a year old. Yeah, that timetable got moved up and we started TTC #2 when she was 6 months old. But we have my age to factor in (I will now be 39 when this one is born), or we would have held more to the 1yr mark for discussion.

we are much more relaxed about #3. after #2, its like "oh another one! ok!!" lol we feel the same way - that we're ready and we can't wait.

eta: lol i read the question wrong. but yes, we are on the same page. yet, i would have TTC at 3 months pp if he would have said yes lol

DH wanted to TTC right away. I had to forget how much I hated pregnancy first. We've been "not preventing" since DD was 9 mo. We actually tried (using OPKs) this month. I'm a little surprised I haven't gotten pg yet, because it only took us one month off BC with DD and we weren't "trying."

I am only now feeling completely recovered from pregnancy (long story that most people are tired of listening to me complain about). So we haven't even talked about it. Right now with my job, this would not be the best time.

I am 30 and still have some time. Would like to have #2 before I am considered advanced maternal age. What is that, 33?

Basic AMA is 35. The AMA where you now have a perinatal consultation is 38.

For me, my practice does not really do much for basic AMA unless you have issues. Now, I get extra u/s when we go to the Perinatal Center in a couple of weeks.

We're on the same page now. For a while earlier this year I was dead set on TTC this summer. Fortunately DH is the logical half of our partnership and convinced me that things were not secure enough for us financially to try quite yet. I also snapped out of my Nest BFP-induced jealousy and my baby fever has cooled.

Right now we're penciled in to TTC in January. I could actually probably stand to wait until spring or summer, frankly. We're only planning on having one more, so I'm not in a huge hurry.

We are TTC #2 and DH was ready before me, he told me after having DS that I had two years to the day before he would start asking me regularly when I was ready to try again. Interesting question.

After my loss last month I think DH just wants to do whatever makes me happy. We always sort of agreed that we would have our babies 4 years apart but he loved being very close in age with his sister so he was torn. Now we're hoping to ttc when DH's job thing stabilizes. So, to answer your question, we didn't necessarily start out on the same page but I think we are now.

I have been ready since DS was like 4 mos old. DH is just now warming up to the idea. He says he wants more kids, just not yet. I am hoping we will be ready by this spring. We already have a 7 year old (my step son who is very much a part of our lives).

Both DH and I are incredibly excited to get pg with #2.

He's always wanted 2 or 3 so this feels more like how he wanted his life to be..........but for me it's like a whole new level of excitement that I actually want to have more than 1 child lol. I'm almost 35 so I'm pretty sure this is my last baby but if our business really takes off and I feel great after #2 who knows?!

If it was up to DH I we would already have baby #2. He wanted to start trying for another when DD was 6 months old. Now we are on the same page and we are not trying/not preventing. I feel comfortable with it as long as I don't have 2 under 2. Now that she is 15 months, I am ready to try for another.

We both wanted 3 until DS was born. Now we are both happy being done! Shortly after DS was born, I decided I didn't want #3 and DH followed suit a few weeks later.

Well since I am already pregnant with #2 I will go from before. We had different timelines in mind for sure. He was ready to try when DS was 4 months old but I wasn't ready until he was about 10 months old. I got pregnant the next cycle. Who knows when I will be ready for #3 but we both know there will be one.
