Do you like your Dr. Browns bottles?

We are trying to switch from the drop ins and my husband likes the idea of getting Dr. Browns for his reflux/colic, I said I would ask the ladies. So ladies do you like them?

  • We like them and DS has reflux also.

  • I like them - despite the many pieces. I'm not sure that they are helpful for reflux/colic. While DS does not have severe reflux - he does have it. These bottles are suppose to help with air bubbles/gas but DS also still has lots of gas lol.

They are what he has used from the beginning, so we haven't seen a reason to switch. That's the only reason we have them.

  • We just started them last night and so far so good!
  • That is all we use. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have a dishwasher. We didn't w/ DS #1 and they were a pita.

  • We just switched to these this weekend.  DD has bad...really bad...gas issues.  We were using the Munchkin bottles first, then we went to the Playtex Ventaire bottles.  The day I was going to buy another Playtex bottle a lady stopped me and told me that Dr. Brown's was recommended by the nurses in the ER that she had to take her DD to for colic issues. She had the whole line of Playtex bottles and even offered to give them to me if I really wanted them, but recommended to spend the extra money and time for the Dr. Brown's.

We've only been using them for a couple of days, but DD belly isn't all extra big and hard after eating.  She also burps easier and isn't screaming while passing gas.  We also use the Mylicon drops too.

This! I stopped using them because we don't have a dishwasher. We switched to Drop-Ins and I think DD is better (colic/gas wise) because I squeeze all the air out.

  • They get incredibly annoying to wash (unless, like pp said, you can put them in the dishwasher, but we only run ours every few days so this doesn't work well for us) because of all the parts. I wish I could go back and get different bottles, but I don't want to waste the money we spent on these.

That being said, if my dd had relux, I would definitely give these a go if they helped!

  • We had reflux issues, switched from Drop-Ins to Dr. Browns are were thrilled. Yes, there are a lot of pieces, but we just throw them in dishwasher baskets overnight.
  • We've used them from the beginning and haven't had any problems.  I really don't find it that difficult to wash all the pieces by hand (doesn't take that long) but we do use the dishwasher baskets if we're running the dishwasher.

This--there are only 2 more pieces to wash.  I'm not big into washing dishes and I don't find it any more difficult to wash than other bottles.
