Comcast has sent me over the edge

OMG, I called last week b/c Disney On Demand suddenly stopped working and my toddler is going to become homicidal if he can't watch Mickey Mouse.  So after 4 phone calls, they scheduled a tech to come to our house on Friday morning.  The guy was here for 30 seconds, tells me it's a billing issue and that Disney is no longer part of my package, and leaves.  So I call again.  Still no Disney On Demand but they credit my account $59 for the hassle.  Fine.  Go to watch Yo Gabba On Demand and holy hell, it's all gone!  No more On Demand period.  So after about 20 other calls they are telling me that they can't fix it from there b/c my box is not "talking" to them anymore.  WTH.  They can't get anyone out here to fix it on my schedule for over a week.  Oh hell no hunny that ain't gonna work.  I am so effing pissed- I have yelled at about a bazillion different Comcast employees and they honestly can't/won't do anything else.  I'm done.  I really don't want Satellite, but I guess that's what we're going to have to do.  I wish that stupid fiber optic stuff would hurry up and get to my neighborhood!  Comcast is taking too many years off my life.  They suck.  Bad.

  • Aww I am so sorry.  I really do feel for you.  And those customer service people aren't helpful at all.  They only end up frustrating you more than the actual problem itself.  I am sick of dealing with customer service people too.  After the hassle we went through trying to return our baby bedding that was totally defective and now we are dealing with our cable co. too.  I'm so through with it too. 

    I'm pissed at our cable co. though because they give the bundle package to the new customers only.  Well where are the benefits for the returning customers... especially during the financial trouble that we're all going through.  I gave some customer feedback today when I was on the phone with them telling them that doing away with the bundles for returning customers is lack of customer service and is showing us that they value their new customers more.  We're ready to find a new co. to go with too.

    I have always had this issue with Comcast but I have always managed to get them to give me another new package whenever the old one runs out.  It is a total PITA, but here's what you do... call them to ask why your bill increased (as if you didn't know), wait for them to screw up (trust me, it's inevitable), then ask to speak to a manager.  Then tell them that you are so frustrated and ready to switch to satellite.  They will give you their whole scripted schpiel about how much the satellite companies suck and then if you play it right... they will start offering free stuff.  Pass on the first thing- it's usually lame-o, and then they will offer you something better.  We are wrapping up 6 mos worth of free internet and so far with all this crap, I've gotten a $59 refund, 1 year of free HBO, and 6 mos of free DVR service.  Of course I still don't have my On Demand which is all that I really care about... god, they SUCK.

  • Escalate, escalate, escalate. Go here or here to get the name and number of the head honcho for Comcast. Do an EECB (executive email carpet bomb) and try for some resolution.

    But don't get your hopes up. Consumerist.com has consistently rated Comcast as one of the worst companies in the entire world!!!

  • Pay your bills would ya.....  Smile

    Once we left Comcast when we bought our house decided NEVER going back. Our Satelite was great until a tree branch got in the way.  I do think On emand is awesome, but I lived without it until we could get Uverse.

  • Both my husband and I tried calling them yesterday to get back to the inital first year package price and I even talked to a supervisor and ended up giving her some customer feedback about how their pricing sucks, but no such luck... all they wanted to do was offer the really dumb useless packages to us even when we said we were going to switch to using someone else... Sad
