Anyone's LO a loud sleeper?

When DS first came home, he slept nice and quiet. Now that he has been home for over a week, he likes to grunt and stretch and make all kinds of noises in his sleep. It happens more when he is in his crib or pnp, not so much when he being held. he is still sleeping in the room with me in his pnp but I keep on getting up because he is so loud, and I think he is getting up because he is hungry, etc. But most of the time he is just making noises in his sleep.

  • Yup! L is so grunty & moeny & loud in hs sleep! (when he eats or poops too for that matter). I asked his pedi about it and he said it has to do with their immature gastro system or something but not to worry about it. I wake up often too to check him but lately we have been co-sleeping & he is not as noisey when he is in bed weith me for some reason

  • Yep! But same as the pp, DD is much much quieter when she's in bed with us.

  • Yes.  It's taken a while to be able to discern a mid-sleep cycle rousing with a full on waking.  At first I was waking him up a lot unnecessarily, but now I can tell if he's sleeping and noisy or really waking up.
  • As a newborn, yes.  She's gotten much quieter during her sleep as she's gotten older.  Now she only wakes up to cry when she's hungry or s/t we hear her whimper when she is pooping or her paci fell out.  :)

  • Mine was just like that until he was probably 2 months old.  It got so bad that at 7 weeks I decided that I couldn't have him in my room b/c he kept waking me up, but he was still asleep.

  • DS will be 7 weeks tomorrow and is so loud I wear ear plugs to bed.  I can still hear him, but it's muted.  I couldn't get any sleep with all that racket and I'm not ready to move him into his own room.  Most of the time he's just grunting and stretching in my house - not pooping.  I think I'd almost feel better if he was pooping!
  • His early sleep, yes.  He grunts and does this barking noise (almost sounds like a loud hiccup too) lol  Once he's in a deeper sleep he's quiet.  Takes about 30min-1 hour.
  • same as PPs.  Even after I put him down after a middle of the night feeding, almost exactly 5 minutes later (I go to the bathroom and get a drink of juice) he grunts for 10 -15 minutes and then, silence.  At first I thought this was really weird, but he consistently does it and then quiets down. He's just noisy!
