Does it seem to affect LO? How do they sleep? I usually have a cup in the morning and one in the afternoon around 2p. She is not a good sleeper and wondering if this is why. I heard you can have a couple cups thougth. WDYT?

Re: BFers, do you drink coffee?
I think everyone is different. With that said, I decided to try an ice-coffee from Starbucks and I had a TERRIBLE night. I wont be having Starbucks regular or decaf any time soon.
However, I did have a non starbucks decaf yesterday and she was an angel! She slept for two four hour periods last night!
I made the switch to decaf after a really long night with LO when I drank a can of Pepsi. I wasn't going to risk it with coffee after that.
I occasionally drink coffee (maybe once every two weeks) and ds is NOT a great napper, and hasn't been in months, but he sleeps about 12 hours (waking up to eat a time or two) a night. I haven't noticed a difference on the days I do drink it. I guess I can't complain!
I'd try to cut out coffee for 3-4 days and then see if it affects your LO's sleep, if you're really thinking it might!
I drink caffeine in some form everyday (usually coffee) and my DS STTN (8pm-7 or 8 am).
I think you just have to figure out if it affects your baby.
I'm very sensitive to caffeine and I wouldn't be surprised if my daughter turns out to be too. I have always drank decaf but have only occasionally since having LO. I might have 1/2 cup every few weeks. So far, I haven't seen it affect her sleep but I have it so rarely that it would be hard to tell.
If I were you, drink decaf to be on the safe side and drink it in the AM only so it doesn't affect her nighttime sleep.

I have some while I feed her in the morning. I figure she doesn't get it while I'm drinking and her next feeding is hours away so it doesn't effect her much then either.
Now coke on the other hand drives her bonkers. I'm not sure why.
