but i have a problem. I have had farily bad m/s since about 7 weeks, been on zofran since about 8. normally if i throw up at all it is frist thing in the morning, then i take my zofran and i'm fine till right before bed time then i get a little sick, but don't usually throw up.
well the last few days it has been AWFUL. i have been feeling sick most of the day, even with zofran, and then been really sick and pukey at night.
today was the worst of all. I slept it really late, but within an hour of waking up i had thrown up 3 times (all water, i hadn't waten yet). i threw up again immediatly after taking the zofran. then we went to lunch. i threw up half way through lunch (well it was more like dinner, it was at 4:30), finished eating and felt not too bad for a while. then i started feeling really sick again about 7, threw up what was left of my dinner, and felt good enough to watch a movie. got home around 10, felt like sh!t again, and i've throw up twice since i got home. i ate some cereal a little while ago because i have thrown up everything else today, and i feel like it is on it's way back up shortly.
so in essence, i'm getting considerably worse very quickly. has anyone else's m/s gotten WORSE at 13 weeks? i thought it was supposed to get better?
ick, just re-read this, sorry if TMI, just trying to explain how horribly AWFUL today was.
Re: i don't know if anyone is left (serious m/s question) (and long)
That was what a typical day looked like for me between 6 and 15 weeks when I ended up in the hospital with dehydration. The doctor was shocked that I wasn't on Zofran (I had asked my OB and was denied).
With the Zofran I still have all-day nausea and vomiting, just less of it. I vomit anywhere from 0-2 times a day now. Although at this point it's been two weeks since I've thrown up!
My morning sickness definitely got worse about 11.5-12 weeks- right when it's supposed to start going away! It got really bad after that to the point where I went from vomiting 4-5 times a day to going 24+ hours without keeping any fluids or food down. This is how I ended up so dehydrated that I was admitted to the hospital.
Call your doctor and let him/her know what is going on. Maybe they'll have other suggestions for you. In the meantime, keep pushing fluids but if you're not keeping anything down in a 24 hour period consider going to the ER to make sure you're not dehydrated.
I'll be 18 weeks on Monday and this week I finally started feeling some relief from the nausea so there is hope.
Good luck!
I would really call your doc. It seems like you might need a different medication. The nausea should pass soon, but I would still call the Doc on Monday about this. (Or sooner, if you prefer) You shouldn't be feeling that terrible while medicated. Blah.
I'm sorry you feel that way, I hope it gets better soon!
i will def be calling my MW on monday. i have been able to keep down fluids, it isn't like i throw up everytime i swallow something. and i have gotten some nutrients from my food today, because i don't always throw it up immediatly after eating it (if that makes sense). i did just throw up my cereal though
and this last time i threw up so hard it went out my nose, so now i keep getting big whiffs of vomit smell and it is making me dry heave (lol, sorry, prolly way TMI, i am just pissed about that). gah, this sucks. and i threw up my medicine i have to have to sleep, so now it is 2 am and i am WIDE THE FVCK AWAKE. oh well, my lil bro is spending the night, and it is the last night before school starts so i don't mind staying up late.
wow, that got way off topic, sorry, i'm kinda scatter brained today. but if it gets worse tomorrow (as in can't keep fluids down) i will call the on call doc, other wise i will be calling my MW on monday
Ick, my vomit always comes out my nose. It's the worst!
If you are having trouble sleeping, take a unisom. It works miracles for me on nights when the nausea keeps me awake. It toally knocks me out though so beware! I tend to sleep 10-12 hours if I take one.
gah, i would pay so much money if 1 unisom would knock me out. but i take lot sof meds every day and have been for many years, so sadly sh!t like that doesn't put me to sleep. i have to take 100 mg of benadryl to even feel drowsy. and phenergan usually knocks people out, but i can take one and then go work for 8 hours. ambien does NOTHING to make me sleep. at all.
i am planning on taking 50 of benadryl in a little while to maybe take the edge off the nausea and hopefully maybe make me tired. we'll see if it works
Zofran didn't work for me at all. The only thing that worked is phenergan, but I think it's a class C drug so I only use it when I NEED it. THe other thing is sometimes you can get a suppository of the meds if you can't keep them down. I know that's not a pleasant thought either, but if it helps. . .
I'm sorry you're going through this.
Reglan helps me more than Zofran, so ask about that. You could also ask to increase your zofran dose, and you can take both meds together. They are both class B drugs.
Hope you feel better soon.
