when did you find out the gender?

I have an appt. for when I'm 17 weeks, and my doctor told me they'll be able to tell if it's a boy or girl. Everything I've been reading says closer to 20 weeks.

How far along were you when you found out if you're having a boy or girl?

It really depends on your LO. She was really stubborn at my 18 week appointment (joined Team Green), but showed the techs her stuff at 20 weeks. I'm going to a 3D/4D place on Monday to make sure since she was so stubborn!

My first big US was at 17 weeks 5 days and the us tech said he thought it was a girl but couldn't be 100% sure. The main problem though was that she was still to small to see her heart and kidneys so I had another big US at 19 weeks 5 days and they confrimed she was a girl and saw what they needed to.

How did they tell at weeks 5 days??

I have had 4 U/S so far bc they thought i was having twins at first so they kept checking me to see....so I had a 5 week 7 week and 8 week....last one was at 12 weeks for my NT scan and they wouldnt even guess the sex...my doc said at my big U/S like 19-20 weeks I will know...

Yeah, seriously. I was thinking the same thing.

I don't know specifically about this poster, but I did have a friend who found out about 6 weeks. She had chromosomal testing done (for family medical history reasons, not to find out the sex), and the doctor asked if she wanted to know the sex when they gave her the test results. They didn't have to wait for external genitals to show. XX or XY - 100% accurate.

We just went to Fetal Focus today at 16 wk 1 day... and the lady was very confident that we are having a BOY!!!! Couldn't be happier!!!

My SIL found out at 17 weeks with both of her kids and I will be 17 weeks when I go.

I was 16w. She was moving around so much, and kept her feet crossed at her ankles for the most part. But, we got 2 good shots and the tech said she is about 90% sure it is a girl. We will have another appt at 20w to confirm!

19 weeks the first time no doubt about it, clear as day..

This time my big U/S is at 20 weeks 5 days so we are hoping to find out for sure again!

We found out at our 20-week scan.

The way I understood it, fetal genetalia isn't fully formed until week 18, so it's more accurate when it's closer to 20 weeks (provided LO cooperates).

I am going at 18 weeks...many do it between 16 and 20 but 18 seems to be the standard.

It was a typo. I know she had a 3D/4D done either yesterday or today...so she was 15 weeks and 5 days. She just forgot the one guys.
