Phone call with MIL

My DH just got off the phone w/ his mom. He called her about getting our old kennel from her house for the new puppy. Her response "I thought yall were going try and have a baby?" ... He said what does that have to do with the dog kennel? She said you dont need a puppy you need a baby. LOL I just laughed. Just FYI she doesnt know we ARE trying....she thinks we are thinking about starting the beginning of next year.

    Well at least your MIL wants you guys to have kids. My MIL keeps telling us that we are so not ready, and she is not even sure when, or if, we will ever be ready.

    Hehe....my MIL would probably lecture us for hours if she knew that we were TTC. She thinks we should wait at least a year, but DH and I are ready for a new baby...we don't want a huge age gap between any of our kids. If we get preggo soon then the youngest (his daughter) will be about 2 1/2 when the baby gets here.

    My MIL has no clue that we are TTC after her comments during my M/C.  She told DH that it wasn't possible for me to be having a M/C because all women "have to go to the hospital for that."  Like it's an elective procedure or something.  DH had to politely tell her to STFU and we don't discuss babies with her.
     TTC #1 since June 2008
    M/C @ 6 weeks 12/31/2008, Ectopic @ 6 weeks on 4/23/2010
    Diagnosed Unexplained 11/2009-DH is fine-I don't get AF

    My dad's rule is if you can't get a dog to listen you shouldn't have children. Hahaha!

    My mom announced at a baby shower last weekend that she plans on having one for me next spring and that we'll be having a summer baby. She has no idea we're even TTC!

    Sometimes moms have a really good intuition about this kind of stuff! My mom knew i was preggo with my son before I knew!

     Or say "Well, we wanted to have the puppy break in the kennel for when we have a baby. That's okay right?"

    I never tire of scaring my MIL.
