I cannot get a system down! How do you organize all your LO's clothing?
I have all of her "fashion" stuff (basically anything that's not a sleeper) hanging and divided by size.. but don't know what to do with the pants that go with tops (sets), socks, sleepers, onesies, etc.
I want to put all the sleepers into drawers but I have ALL sizes (from 0-3 to 12 months) so I somehow need to divide them up. I also need to figure out what to do with all the pants, etc.
I am usually super organized, so this is driving me crazy. It's a mess!
Re: Organizing baby clothing?
I have one of those cube organizers with the fabric drawers in DDs room. I put onesies, pjs, and "casual" stuff that doesn't fit her yet in there. Only stuff she currently wears goes in her dresser. Here is how I sort it:
Top drawer: socks, hats, onesies
Second drawer: pjs
Third drawer: diapers (her dresser doubles as the changing surface)
In the closet I have all her "outfits" (dresses, shirt/pants sets) organized from smallest to largest. I hang her pants with the top it goes with.
Current size clothes are in the dresser, onesies and tshirts up top, sleepers up top, pants and sweatshirts in the bottom... may end up hanging those... all other clothes are in storage bins and bags under their cribs, outgrown clothes are in the closet in bags (I am saving them to make them quilts out of the clothes from their first year.)
Socks, hats, misc. items are in a separate storage unit in their room.
I hang everything. I used some cardboard to make little dividers and labeled them 0-3, 3, 3-6, 6 etc.?
?
I put random pants, shorts, and shirts in the drawers. he doesn't have a LOT though. And his sleepers are all in the drawer right next to the changing table.?
In her closet I have a 3-drawer plastic storage thing that I keep all of the future sizes of clothes in, and I move them up as I take the next size, i.e. since she is in 3-6 mo now, the 6-9 are in the first drawer, 9-12 in middle, larger sizes in the last drawer.
We have a dresser/changer and I do this (clothes only her current size):
Top drawer: plain white onesies, burp cloths, sleepers, and sleep sacks
Middle: "fancy" onesies (we wore a lot of decorative onesies this summer, now these will be mixed and matched with pants as the weather gets cooler), pants, and other casual/daycare outfits - including matching pants/tops
Bottom: nicer clothes and outfits that are more for going out (I hang dresses and other fancier clothes I don't want wrinkled in the closet).
Small side drawer: basket with socks and hats
Side cupboard: diapers, crib sheets, pads, blankets, etc.
