What do you all think of the name Broderick? We want a strong but unique boy's name that has a cute nickname option for the toddler years. The nickname is Brody.
I thought this sounded outlandish at first, but it's growing on me... We have a one syllable last name that starts with a hard G.
Re: Broderick?
LOVE it. ?I've never heard of it or thought of it before, but I'm all for unique (but not made up) names.

I don't have a problem with Brody as a nn. I mean lots of nicknames aren't exactly like the full name: eg Mary = Molly William = Bill etc etc
I don't like Borderick as a name though. It seems strange to use a surname that has no family connection.

I don't like Broderick, personally, b/c I know a guy I worked with (it was his last name) and I did not care for him. Probably if I do have some kind of association with the name, I would like it. I think Brody is a perfect nn!
Bueller?
Seriously, if you like the name Brody, just name him that.
I love it!
Coming from someone using a surname that we have no connection with if we have a boy
