All we have done is start our registry. I would say it's only about 40% complete. We are building our house, so we can't start the nursery yet. I am asking about a hospital tour at our next appointment. I feel like we should sign up for that soon.
we have just about everything we need for babys arrival. but im thinking about switching obs ...again...sigh. we are moving here soon and i will get the babys room set up then, that will ne nice to have done.
We've called around to a few daycare centers, but that's about it.
The room we're using for the nursery is a giant construction zone and full of boxes from when we moved. We're tackling that project this week. I haven't bought a single baby item aside from some onesies I got on clearance ($2.99 for a 5 pack, woohoo!)
I feel like I'm so behind the game, but I really wanted to wait until we found out the sex (Monday at 8:30am, woohoo!) to really do anything. I can't wait to get started!
I am 23 weeks now and my husband and I are both teachers. We decided to take the bull by the horns this summer while we had the time. The nursery is done sans all the decorations and bedding that we put on the registery. Preadmission papers are done for the hospital but we haven't scheduled any classes yet. The baby shower invitations are done and being sent out next week. The childcare provider is on lockdown. This maybe a little over ambitious for 23 weeks, but when school starts, the time is going to fly!
I've had a lot of free time on my hands since I'm not working so I've been able to get a lot done so far. DH and I have registered, purchased the crib/bedding, and set up the nursery. I'm still working on some finishing touches for wall decor in the nursery, but I'm mostly done... I'm one of those freakish people that has to have things done waaaay in advance to feel prepared so this is one less thing for me to worry about accomplishing before our little boy arrives!!
We've got the crib, mattress, and changing table. We've got 1 coat of paint on the walls (going to get the second coat up tomorrow), we don't need a daycare facility, and I've sorta started a registry...kinda. lol
Well, shitt. You ladies were supposed to make me feel better, lol.
The sucky thing is that we had a mellow summer but both work in schools and will have a CRAZY busy fall. I just didn't feel like getting started until our U/S, which we just had.
We're moving in October, so her nursery isn't ready yet. We do have all of the baby furniture (bedding is in the mail towards us) and we also have the travel system and Pack N Play. We have tons of gender neutral clothes all washed and folded, a closet full of toys (all in packaging, none washed yet), cloth diapers (none prepped yet), and girl clothes (in bags with tags on).
We haven't purchased the glider yet (if we can even afford it), and we haven't registered yet (also not sure if we're going to have a shower), and I need to buy more cloth diapers!!
i feel like other than making sure the baby isnt naked all the time, ive done NOTHING. i bought tons of clothes (im sure more than i shouldve) and were waiting to move into our new house at the beginning of september, so i cant do the nursery and really dont want to keep buying stuff until i have a place to put it :P but i hate not being able to do stuff!! its killingggggg me!
So far....we registered at our hospital and completed our registry. Luckily, we dont have to do a nursery since LO will be in our room until we move in May, so it makes it a lot easier!
I have to do my birthing classes, I just dont know when a good time to start taking them is....and I start my breastfeeding support group on the 17th of Sept.....
We have completed our registry, purchased the crib, and cleaned out the room. As far as the shower is concerned, the location is booked and invitations ordered. We were given pamplets to read over for birth classes, but have yet to sign up for them.
We have the registries just about finished and bought too many clothes in a variety of sizes - we hope baby has the basics for at least 6 months or so (we are cloth diapering, so that means going up a size and Chickie is apparently a long-leggity beastie which may push the sizes up even more).
We have the crib, dresser, changer, diapers, swing. I'm trying to get a couple of things used off craigslist (missed out on five co-sleepers, darn it). We need to start clearing out the nursery, as that room needs serious work.
I've got the name letters for the wall in process and a baby blanket in process.
That's about it. We know which birthing classes we're going to take, but haven't signed up yet. We have been holding off a bit on daycare, because I'm hoping my mother will decide to move out here. We've talked about it for years, but she's not sure now (sigh). I'm really hoping we don't need daycare. I will start looking for a pedi in October, I think.

Signed up for birthing classes, tour of the birthing facility, CPR class. ?Bought paint for the nursery, taped off the nursery. ?Bought the focal point for the nursery - will work my theme around the largest piece of decor. ?Got the crib and mattress (unused) from my neighbor/friend. ?Bought a dresser which we will mount our changing pad on. ?Got tubs of clothing from another neighbor friend. ?Registered at Sears and BRU. ?Picked out a name. ?Started planning for SAHM budget. ?Decided on cloth diapering.
No clothes purchased so far... feel kinda weird about that one. ?Really want to, but figure that I will get a lot of clothes at my shower.
My mom was just out so she bought our stroller, car seat and baby clothes. My in-laws brought over the crib and changing table from my SIL. I have the bedding and have sketched what I want to paint on the nursery walls. My MIL keeps bringing over baby clothes that she has bought.
I have registered for birthing classes and have almost all the rest of my prenatal appointments scheduled. But I just lost my job about 2 weeks ago so I have had a lot of time on my hands.
Not much. I'm still waiting on our big u/s to feel more secure about the idea that we're really having a baby (I'm a bit paranoid).
My H went to Daddy Boot Camp today because it was the last one for several months... that was very cool.
I've researched daycares online but haven't called any yet.
I started a wishlist at BRU but no registry yet.
I'm still mainly just soaking up information online, in books, and in podcasts.
After the u/s I plan to call daycares and call about childbirth classes just to make sure they're not too booked up. Also start our registry. And think about the nursery.
Registry is set up,Infant Car Seat purchased & Installed, Convertible Car Seat purchased,PnP purchased & set up,Checked out L&D,Gotten so hand-me-down clothes,Bottles purchased & washed, Lightweight Stroller purchased, Swing purchased & set up, Diaper pail bought, baby bath tub bought, & High Chair & feed supplies bought.
we still have to get a Crib, Changing table, Stroller, Bouncer, Crib bedding, & a boppy.

We are both teachers, too. This was my plan.
In reality we've started our registry, removed some of the guest room / office furniture from the baby's room, purchased parts of the bedding, purchased our stroller, decided on (not purchased) the baby furniture, signed up for labor basics birth classes.
The plan is for DH to paint the baby's room within the next week.
We have the crib, changing table, swing, etc... and quite a bit of clothing. We registered, toured the hospital. I am going to be a SAHM so I didn't need childcare.
Wow some of you guys have made me feel like a slacker!! We've registered @ BRU & Target, set up an interview with a daycare, getting her room ready to paint, ordered furniture, and signed up for classes...
By 20 wks we had registered and had daycare lined up (SIL is a daycare provider). Now I am 25 wks and nursery is done except for hanging the wall decorations and I signed up for birthing and BF classes last week which start at the end of Sept. Currently working on getting the scrapbook made so all I have to do is add pictures when the time comes.
So don't worry if you still have stuff to do at 20 weeks you still have time and some things don't take long to do once you start them.?

Just found out baby's sex on Thursday, so bedding and starting the nursery is next
I can't wait for that!

The end.?

After several tours, we decided on a daycare. We just want to negotiate the price.
Haven't signed up for classes yet. I think it is still too early for those.
The baby's room is set up, except for a crib. All painted, decorated and organized.
I'm getting lots of hand-me-downs from my little niece and nephew, so I've got those washed and put away.
Our registry is set up.
