how do you keep your kid...

... from eating art supplies?

This bums me out more than anything because I'm an artist and DS loves to color and paint... but he wants to eat them.  The Dr. said that somes kid just like the taste (ewwwwww) but I'm really hoping he grows out of it soon.  I always feel bad because he'll bring me his colors and paper and I'll sit there with him to watch him.  But it never fails, he'll color for like 2 seconds and then into the mouth and then the colors get put away and I'm left with a wailing 2 year old.  Crying

Re: how do you keep your kid...

  • My DD stopped putting art supplies in her mouth a while ago, but maybe you can switch to markers - they might not taste as good.

Or else embrace his paint-eating and let him fingerpaint with vanilla pudding (dyed w/food coloring)?

    GL!

I would try that, maybe he wants to eat it because he can't?? At least you could let him paint without fair this way..
